∎ Duration: 12 months (Renewable based on funding status and performance of the staff)
∎ Location: Kurigram, Bangladesh with frequent travels to program locations in Dhaka based on programme need.
∎ Context:
∎ Tdh has been present and active in Bangladesh since 1974 and focuses its work on Migration, tackling child labour, health, child protection, WASH, Access to Justice and humanitarian aid. We are currently working in Dhaka, Cox`s Bazar, Ukhiya, Teknaf and Kurigram.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Capacity Development Coordinator reports directly to Project Manager (SPiRIT Project) of supporting the implementation of Tdh project in Dhaka and Kurigram. S/he is responsible for management of staff involved in capacity development,staff capacity development, coordination with programmes, finance, logistics and human resources, implementation of activities, project development, reporting, coordination with local Government authorities, and stakeholders and ensure security measures are followed my capacity development team.
∎ The incumbent will conduct his or her duties in respect of the Charter of Terre des hommes, Tdh Child Protection Policy, Bangladesh laws, policies, and constitution.

∎ Specific Job Responsibilities:
∎ Strategic management:
∎ Contextualize Tdh 'sports for protection toolkit' and module on Life-skills, Leadership, and Limitless Potential (LLLP) in the local context and design sensitization on the use of sports for youth development, protection, and their wellbeing.
∎ Design and conduct need assessment for the capacity development in responding to the need of the project participants in coordination with the project implementation team with the guidance from the Project manager.
∎ Create a skill development framework for project participants, taking into account both cognitive and non-cognitive skills as specified in the project proposal.
∎ Design a competency-based training and assessment system for the project's beneficiaries, as well as a framework for recognizing prior learning.Strengthen youth's leadership skills and capacity development through the Sport for protection methodology and the contextualisation and implementation of Participatory action research approaches based on Tdh curriculum and Methodologies for empowering local youth.
∎ Lead the development of training packages on the theme of Sports for protection, LLLP and cross-cutting issues for delivering training to Project participants, Partners' staff, coaches, teachers, and community-based workers.
∎ Explore the capacity development opportunities to train project participants with strategic partners and Create linkages and establish Capacity Development referral pathways with the government, private and non-government service providers for accessing vocational training, entrepreneurship and support
∎ Work in coordination with the programmes, technical team, MEAL/Q&A and ensure Capacity development initiatives respect approaches such as gender equality, fairness and "do no harm". In particular, protects confidential data, applies the principles of informed consent, and protects children during the completion of projects in his/her area of expertise as per protection guiding principles.
∎ Share lessons learned; supports a culture of openness and discussion where critical thinking is encouraged in order to learn from errors and continually improve actions
∎ Support to project and programme teams:
∎ In addition to the support to strategic management (Content development, training need assessment, development of skill development framework, and design of competency-based training and assessment system) oversee the implementation of the capacity development activities in the program/target areas.
∎ Support to assess the situation and needs of the capacity development team and project technical support as required
∎ Develop the capacity of the staff in terms of Sports for Protection, Life-skills, Leadership, and Limitless Potential (LLLP) and other curriculum on capacity development related to the project proposal.
∎ Support for Preparation, planning and facilitation of capacity development trainings, refresher trainings and workshops etc.
∎ Lead the selection and collection of appropriate case studies based on the donor's needs, and ensure that each case has high-quality images and videos.Conduct field supervision meetings with Capacity development staffs, providing technical advice on capacity development and related technical issues. Share minutes with related staff within Tdh and Project Manager.
∎ Review staff performance and workload to ensure the quality of the implementation and share challenges with Project Manager.
∎ Monitor timescales for response, decision-making, placement, follow-up, and review
∎ Supervise the intervention plans closely with internal or external to Tdh
∎ Supervise and support the modification to the program design as per the need in the community for children, adolescent and families living in project sites.
∎ Develop strategies to address the challenges faced by the program together with the team.
∎ Prepare and delegate the reports, according to the project document (monthly reports, quarterly reports, donor reports, final report etc).
∎ Ensure regular communication with the line manager on activities' updates, achievements and challenges via meetings, reports and ad hoc communication upon request and needs.
∎ Participate in field assessment whenever requested by the line manager.
∎ Provide regular monitoring of all aspects of capacity development activities in collaboration with other departments (MEAL/Finance/Logistics) for effective and timely implementation of the project activities
∎ Provide support during the collection of data for programme indicators and programme steering summaries.
∎ Learning and training:
∎ Take responsibility for building the Capacity Development skills of Tdh's project teams and partner organisations by ensuring that the support provided to teams furthers their training (through mentoring) and by organising training sessions as needed, working in coordination with the MEAL unit.
∎ Use of data:
∎ Ensure that data is used optimally during operational and strategic decision-making at the project in accordance with donor requirements, especially with respect to institutional reporting.
∎ Child Protection:
∎ Directly coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure the regular coordination and communication within the program team to ensure that children, adolescent, and adults in need of protection are timely identified and adequately supported
∎ Directly coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure that the capacity development activities are is in line with child protection principles, and activities are integrated into the Bangladeshi child protection system and humanitarian coordination practices and guidelines
∎ Report protection/serious/high cases of children identified by the project team as per the protection guiding principles and incident reporting guidelines
∎ Provides support to capacity building initiative for of the project staff on Child protection and PSEA.
∎ Coordination and representation:
∎ Coordinate with other Technical teams to ensure mainstreaming and implementation of standardized activities.
∎ Coordinate with the Communication and Knowledge Management (C&KM) team to ensure that the learning is shared and that the C&KM team can provide assistance as needed.Liaise with development actors, government authorities, CSOs, sports associations and community in and outside the project area to increase quality and effectiveness of services.
∎ Participate in fora and meetings held at location in her/his field of expertise whenever pertinent and necessary.
∎ Coordinate events (external meetings/workshops, training, seminars, etc.) in relation to the capacity development program.
∎ Other:
∎ Agree to comply with Tdh's Global Code of Conduct, Gender, Data Sharing Policy, Age and Diversity policy and ensure Child Safeguarding standards, Protection from Sexula Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) in all aspects project activities implementation
∎ Adhere to and ensure the team under her/his responsibility follows Tdh's administrative and logistical regulations and procedures.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 3 years of work experience within the field of capacity development and at least 2 years in similar position preferably with international non-government organizations and UN agencies in projects related to child protection, youth development, capacity and skill development, youth leadership, access to justice and migration in both development and emergency settings
∎ Strong understanding of capacity development methods, modules and tools and experience in participatory assessment and community-based monitoring approaches
∎ Excellent analytical skills with solid knowledge and experience in capacity development methods (qualitative and/or quantitative analysis)
∎ Knowledgeable about the skill development framework, both for the cognitive and non-cognitive skillsExperience of working with or providing support to partners and/or a partnership model of working
∎ Demonstrable experience in the nurturing of organisational learning in programmes
∎ Proven facilitation and training skills with diverse audiences of NGO practitioners
∎ Proven understanding of the management of knowledge within NGOs or development organisations and an ability to link this to system development
∎ Experience in developing/guiding information management systems for large development programmes
∎ Clear understanding of Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS), emergency response, development projects, logical framework and Nexus approach;
∎ Experience with capacity building of staff, and in convening and facilitating trainings and workshops
∎ Fluency in spoken and written skills in Bangla and English.
∎ Sound knowledge in IT skills (Microsoft word, Excel, Powerpoint)
