Job Context:
∎ Breaking the Silence is a non-profit, voluntary organization registered with the Department of Social Services (Registration No. 05037, Date: 17 October 2000) and NGOAB (Registration No. 1642, Date: 20 May 2001). The organization works to establish child rights, prevent child abuse and child sexual abuse, prevent child marriage, accelerate child-friendly good governance, improve the quality of education at the primary and pre-primary level, prevent violence against women, empowering children and women. BTS has finalized its new Strategic Plan for 2022-2026, where resource mobilization and communication with stakeholders are the key strategies to ensure organizational growth in the upcoming development landscape.
∎ As a result, BTS seeks a Business Development and Communication Officer who will support and work closely with BTS Senior Management Team. The candidate will support donor mapping and resource mobilization activities. The candidate will support in writing, editing, proofreading and/or developing concept notes and proposals directed to donors, including both institutional and corporates. The post holder will act as the focal person for proposal development, meaning she/he will coordinate with other departments for inputs into components of the proposal development process, consolidate and submit to Director of Program. The candidate will also play an active role in resource mobilization through tracking funding opportunities, regularly updating donors` mapping and tracking donor engagement in the country. The organization is implementing a project named `Core Suppor Model (CSM)` which is support by `Save the Children International (SCI)`. BTS is going to recruit a `Business Development and Communication Officer` under the project and the position`s desk office at Dhaka Head Office.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ 1. Resource Mobilization:
∎ In consultation with program teams, develop and monitor the implementation of BTS resource mobilization strategy.
∎ Identify and ensure follow-up on proactive strategies to engage donors, particularly with interest in Bangladesh.
∎ Contribute significantly to the preparation of project concept papers, proposals, budgets, and Project design documents, ensuring high-quality standards are met, in response to donor announcements.
∎ Identify and communicate potential new areas of program design according to the organization and donor interest.
∎ Develop and maintain donor database. Liaise with prospective funding sources and maintain partnership relations with them.
∎ Monitor funding opportunities through a Funding Opportunity Matrix and link to program teams and ensure appropriate follow-up.
∎ Develop and maintain records of program expertise and organization capacity for use in development of program submissions.
∎ 2. Strategic Planning and Organizational Reports:
∎ Work with Program Director and other senior staff to support the strategic planning implementation process.
∎ Take a role in developing programme strategies and annual plans and track progress.
∎ Coordinate and collate Annual Reports including conducting workshops and addressing donor feedback.
∎ 3. Communications and Knowledge Management:
∎ Design high-quality communications materials through desktop publishing software and consult with programs in the development of communications materials,
∎ Generate ideas to enhance linkages between information, knowledge management and thematic program (e.g. through printing, TV spot, Radio, podcasting, videography, photography, website, branding etc.).
∎ Spearhead technical aspect of social media at BTS to promote information and knowledge management (e.g. through Facebook, Twitter etc).
∎ Generate online deliverable (such as info, graphic etc.) to promote BTS program within and outside of Bangladesh and also to donor countries.
∎ Establish a Community of Practice (CoP) to generate knowledge and information and disseminate it across BTS program
∎ Generate information (e.g. collecting best practices, stories of change, etc. from different program/projects) that can be used in resource mobilization for organization and also could be used as evidence of program quality
∎ Innovate different ways (e.g. video documentary, newsletter, brown bag session, etc.) to disseminate information and knowledge within and outside of BTS.
∎ Watch and connect to different meetings and events of peer networks and donors, and represent and voice organization's business interests.
∎ Others: Any other duties that may be assigned by the management of organization and ready to work to respond to any natural disaster or emergency situation anywhere in Bangladesh.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 22 to 30 years
∎ Tenure of Services Contract:
∎ 3 (Three) months probation period. After successful completion of the probation period, based on the performance of the staff and recommendation from the supervisor, the post may be continued till the project's lifetime.
∎ At least 03 (three) years of professional experience of which minimum 01 (one) year in business development and direct fundraising, being at an entry/ mid-level position with INGO, NGO or UN agency, or Research organization.
∎ Knowledge of business development culture, competition in Bangladesh, and familiarity with online database systems are essential.
∎ Familiarities with social media platforms and promotional activities are essential
∎ Functional skills are required on the common Microsoft programs, remote management tools, communication tools, and social media platforms.
∎ Good command of the English language and excellent writing skills are essential.
∎ Understanding the issues related to child protection, youth development, health, WASH, and climate change is desirable.
∎ Communication skills: good communication skills; ability to interact with a wide variety of people and maintain a friendly, supportive and professional manner.
∎ Ability to work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.

Salary:
∎ Gross: 55,000.00(Fifty Five Thousand)

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ 2 days weekend
∎ Office time, Annual Leave, Increment & other facilities will be applicable as per 'Recruitment and Human Resource Management Policy' of Breaking the Silence and the facilities will be applicable also based on available resources in the project budget.
