Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Read and ensure a full understanding of ACFs Gender Minimum Standards & Child Protection Policies, asking questions and/or for support when necessary.
∎ Implement all work related activities with a gender, disability and child protection lens, taking into account the different needs, concerns and ideas of our staff and beneficiaries.
∎ Ensure the incorporation of gender equity principles in all policies and activities
∎ Encourage the participation of all genders in meeting and on committees.
∎ Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability.
∎ Objective 1: Increase community capability to anticipate, respond and adapt to climate induced health impacts.
∎ Community Engagement: Facilitate community needs assessments to identify health-related vulnerabilities. Engage with partners staffs and community-Based Organizations (CBOs), local institutions, and stakeholders to disseminate project findings and build awareness about climate-induced health risks.
∎ Training and Capacity Building: Conduct capacity-building and training sessions for community members, local institutions, and stakeholders on data collection, supervise partner staffs on early warning dissemination, and functioning Health Info Hubs. On job training for partner staffs to enge empower communities to actively participate in anticipatory actions.
∎ Information Dissemination: Enhance community access to early warning systems by integrating traditional knowledge and modern technologies. Collaborate with disaster management committees to ensure reliable, accurate, and timely forecasts are communicated to vulnerable communities.
∎ Risk Analysis and Surveillance: Contribute to the comprehensive risk analysis of climate-induced health risks. Assist in developing community-led surveillance guidelines for monitoring and tracking disease outbreaks. Work closely with local health authorities to implement surveillance measures.
∎ Protocol Implementation: Support partners for the scaling up of community-based activities related to anticipatory actions on health. Implement draft protocols and frameworks on a larger scale, reaching wider vulnerable communities. Document evidence to support advocacy efforts at the local level.
∎ Objective 2: Evidence based advocacy for scaling up the best practices of community led adaptation to health impacts of climate change.
∎ Best Practice Identification and Documentation: Support program teams for identification and documentation of successful community-led adaptation practices addressing health impacts of climate change.
∎ Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement: Assist DPM, SPO and Partners Staffs in the advocacy efforts at the community and sub-national level.
∎ Objective ( 3) : Proactively support ACFs commitments to gender equality, child protection and disability sensitivity ·
