Responsibilities & Context:

1. Demand & Supply Planning

  • Prepare monthly/weekly supply plans based on sales forecasts, production requirements, inventory position, and business priorities.

  • Develop MRP (Material Requirement Planning) based on production plans, BOM, lead time, safety stock, and available inventory.

  • Monitor demand-supply gaps and proactively identify material shortages and supply risks.

  • Coordinate with Production, Sales, Commercial, Warehouse and Finance for effective supply planning.

  • Participate in S&OP meetings and provide material availability and supply risk analysis.

2. Procurement & Sourcing

  • Plan and execute procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, spare parts and other production-related materials.

  • Prepare procurement schedules based on production requirements and inventory norms.

  • Coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely placement and execution of purchase orders.

  • Monitor local and international market trends, commodity prices, lead times and supplier capacity.

  • Support alternate sourcing and localization initiatives to minimize supply risks.

3. Inventory Management

  • Maintain optimum inventory levels while ensuring uninterrupted production.

  • Establish and monitor minimum, maximum, reorder and safety stock levels.

  • Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, excess and aging inventory and recommend corrective actions.

  • Analyze inventory days, stock coverage and consumption trends.

  • Work closely with Warehouse to ensure accurate inventory records and system reconciliation.

4. Supplier & Vendor Management

  • Monitor supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery and service level.

  • Maintain supplier performance reports and conduct periodic supplier evaluations.

  • Follow up with suppliers regarding order confirmation, production status, dispatch and delivery.

  • Support supplier development, negotiation and corrective-action initiatives.

  • Resolve supply shortages, quality issues and delivery-related problems in coordination with relevant teams.

5. Production & Material Availability

  • Ensure availability of all required materials according to the production schedule.

  • Prepare and monitor Material Shortage Reports and communicate critical shortages to management.

  • Coordinate with Production and Quality teams regarding material specifications, quality issues and material release.

  • Identify potential production interruptions and develop contingency plans.

6. Logistics & Inbound Supply

  • Coordinate inbound transportation and delivery of materials to the factory.

  • Monitor shipment schedules, delivery status and transportation performance.

  • Coordinate with Commercial/Import teams regarding imported raw materials, shipping documents, LC/TT, customs clearance and delivery schedules where applicable.

  • Ensure timely receipt of materials at factory/warehouse.
