Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Oversee incoming raw material inspections, fabric inspections, shrinkage tests, GSM analysis, shade band preparation and approval, and lab testing. Maintain all records such as shade bands, shrinkage, SSV, CSV, and buyer samples with comments for smooth operations.
∎ Analyze trims and fabric supplier quality, delivery, and service performance and share scorecards with top management, merchandising, and supply chain teams.
∎ Work closely with sample, cutting, CAD, merchandising, and production teams to ensure coordination.
∎ Stay updated with textile industry trends, innovations, technologies, and sustainability to support new fabric development.
∎ Collaborate with planning and production teams to ensure on-time inspection of incoming goods and smooth line feeding.
∎ Oversee sample fabric approvals with design teams, focusing on hand feel, wash, and construction.
∎ Perform technical, investigative, and quality control tasks for woven textiles.
∎ Ensure compliance with quality, ethical, and legal standards.
∎ Assess whether fabrics meet machinery capabilities, costings, and production requirements.
∎ Provide technical support for synthetic and natural fabrics to design and production teams.
∎ Implement cost and waste minimization processes following lean management principles.
∎ Foster teamwork and maintain communication to achieve organizational goals.
∎ Conduct fabric color testing and approve lab dips.
