Responsibilities & Context: Job Responsibilities – Assistant Manager (Construction)
Project Planning & Coordination
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing construction projects as per approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Support the Project Manager in preparing work programs, progress reports, and project timelines.
Site Supervision & Monitoring
- Regularly visit project sites to monitor construction activities and ensure work quality and safety compliance.
- Check that all works are carried out as per design, drawings, and specifications.
- Monitor daily progress and report deviations, delays, or technical issues to higher management.
Quality Control & Safety
- Ensure quality control standards are maintained for materials and workmanship.
- Enforce safety regulations and promote safe working practices at the construction site.
- Inspect materials and verify that they meet the required standards before use.
Material & Resource Management
- Assist in preparing material requisitions and ensure timely availability of materials at the site.
- Maintain proper records of materials received, consumed, and remaining in stock.
- Coordinate with the procurement department to ensure material quality and cost efficiency.
Cost & Budget Management
- Assist in preparing project cost estimates and monitoring expenditure against budget.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Support the preparation of contractor bills, measurement sheets, and verification of invoices.
Technical Support
- Review drawings and provide technical feedback for design improvement.
- Assist in resolving construction-related technical issues on-site.
- Coordinate with consultants for design clarifications and technical approvals.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain all necessary project documentation including daily logs, reports, and correspondence.
- Assist in preparing weekly/monthly progress reports for management review.
- Maintain proper filing of drawings, approvals, and site records.
Team Coordination
- Supervise site engineers, foremen, and labor teams to ensure productivity and efficiency.
- Support team training and performance monitoring to maintain project standards.
- Maintain effective communication among all project stakeholders.
