  • Able to plan and work independently with minimum or no supervision.

  • Ability to manage multiple and complex tasks.

  • Proven professionalism and ability to work independently

  • Fluent in English

Responsibilities & Context:
  • Red Cross - Red Crescent movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is a national society of the movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President`s Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971. This is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the government, the Society provides humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable people over the last 53 years and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building and in promoting Red Cross/ Red Crescent ideals and principles.

  • Currently Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is looking for a suitable Bangladeshi national for the following position of its Bhasanchar Operation:

  • Duration of contract: till 31st December 2024 (with the possibility of extension).

  • Reporting to: Finance and Admin Officer, Bhasan Char Operation.

  • Duty station: Bhasan Char, Hatiya Noakhali.

Job Purpose:

  • The Assistant Finance and Admin Officer is expected to ensure financial reporting and monitoring of Bhasan Char Operation at Bhasan Char, Hatiya, Noakhali in a way to ensure that the project fulfills all the reporting and other mandatory requirements to donors and other stakeholders in due time. The Assistant F & A O is also expected to maintain a good working relationship with the project team, BDRCS Bhasan Char Operation.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support all bank transactions and prepare monthly reconciliations for all accounts, get those approved as per BDRCS procedures, and send them to the concerned department for reporting purpose.

  • Report on daily cash balance.

  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register and stock registers of Project.

  • Support in preserving all project-related documents/ records/ data including hard and soft copy back-up.

  • Assis the Finance and Admin Officer to preserve all project-related documents/ records/ data including hard and soft copy back-up.

  • Assist the Finance and Admin Officer in preparing the annual budget, monthly and periodical financial statements, fund requisition, and maintaining correspondence with the respective banks.

  • Assist and cooperate with Internal and External audits of the Project.

  • Support to procurement activity of the operation as per the procurement policy of the society.

  • Ensure good and expected quality and quantity of items from the supplier.

  • Check and verify bills and vouchers received from BCO project staff in line with the agreed budget and support in ensuring submission of bills to BDRCS NHQ and UNHCR in time.

  • Support in salary/ honorarium payment to the staff, volunteers, and other personnel involved with the BCO program.

  • Support the payment through the Global Distribution Tool (GDT).

  • Provide Administrative support and ensure all the organization`s rules and policies are maintained and ensured.

  • Any other responsibilities assigned by the line manager.



Job Other Benifits:
    • Salary Range: Up to BDT. 40,000/- (Monthly Consolidated).
