Job Context:

Meghna Re-Rolling and Steel Mills Limited (MRSML), a concern of Meghna Group of Industries, is establishing a top-notch steel factory in Bangladesh with the latest European technologies and machinery, having an annual production capacity of 1.5 million MT. The vision of this concern is to produce world-class re-rolling products and billets to meet the growing demand in the local market and to contribute significantly to economic growth through exports around the globe. To achieve this goal, we are seeking dynamic, self-motivated, and technically sound Assistant Engineers. The Assistant Engineer-Mechanical/Electrical at Meghna Re-Rolling and Steel Mills Ltd (MRSML) will work in the Water Treatment Plant, reporting to the In Charge WTP. The role involves overseeing mechanical and electrical systems, including the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment like pumps, motors, transformers, and control panels.

Job Responsibilities for Assistant Engineer- Mechanical

• Mechanical Setup & Alignment: Supervise the assembly, positioning, and commissioning of heavy machinery, pumps, and plant auxiliaries. Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure high-quality installation.

• Shift & Breakdown Support: Act as the primary technical contact during shifts to handle mechanical failures. Make quick, effective decisions to repair equipment and minimize production downtime.

• Equipment Reliability: Execute detailed maintenance schedules—including preventive and corrective tasks—to keep machines in top condition. Keep equipment history records updated to track performance and recurring issues.

• Resource & Cost Management: Control the usage of spare parts and chemicals to reduce waste. Manage stock levels in the store and coordinate with purchasing to get critical spares at the right time and cost.

• Supervision & Continuous Improvement: Guide technicians and shift workers to ensure work discipline and safety compliance. Lead "Kaizen" initiatives to simplify tasks and improve overall equipment performance.

Job Responsibilities for Assistant Engineer- Electrical

• Installation & Commissioning: Supervise the setup, testing, and start-up of all electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, and control panels. Ensure every component is correctly wired and meets design standards from the beginning.

• Operations & Troubleshooting: Manage shift duties to ensure a steady power supply. Perform rapid fault-finding and repairs on motors, VFDs, and control circuits to resolve breakdowns and keep the plant running smoothly.

• Maintenance & Record Keeping: Plan and carry out regular preventive and predictive maintenance to prevent equipment failure. Maintain accurate logs of all repairs, breakdown histories, and ISO-related documentation.

• Inventory & Procurement: Monitor the stock of critical spare parts and consumables. Work closely with the procurement team to prepare purchase requisitions and ensure all necessary materials are available when needed.

• Safety & Team Leadership: Supervise electricians and contractors while enforcing strict safety protocols and earthing standards. Provide technical training to junior staff and suggest energy-saving ideas to improve efficiency.
