Educational Requirements:
∎ Master's degree in agriculture (agronomy, horticulture, plant pathology, entomology, etc.) or Master's in Seed Science and Technology from any recognized university.
∎ A bachelor's degree in agriculture (B.Sc. Ag) will be considered, along with relevant experience in the field for a long time.
Experience Requirements:
∎ 3 to 5 year(s)
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
inbreed rice seed production (foundation and certified seed).
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead the comprehensive agricultural development project, particularly focusing on year-round inbreed foundation/certified rice seed production using a contract grower's model.
∎ Offer technical assistance directly to farmers and project supervisors in the realm of inbreed rice seed production.
∎ Develop, execute, and supervise day-to-day activity plans.
∎ Conduct frequent visits to farmers' fields, providing necessary guidance and suggestions.
∎ Make and execute technical decisions pertaining to rice seed production.
∎ Extend technical support for seasonal vegetable cultivation, including papaya and banana.
∎ Manage human resources within the agricultural program.
∎ Oversee staff management, mentoring, supervision, guidance, performance reviews, and problem resolution within the agricultural development program.
∎ Conduct regular training sessions for both farmers and staff.
∎ Engage in reporting, documentation, and knowledge management activities.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 25 years
∎ Prior work experience in the management of contract growers is essential.
∎ Candidates with farm management experience as a farm manager will be given preference.
∎ Strong knowledge of agronomic practices, disease and pest management, and post-harvest seed management is required.
∎ Experience in conducting training sessions for farmers will be considered an advantage.
∎ Must be willing to work in rural areas of Bangladesh, specifically in the farm.
∎ Willing to reside at farm and work with farmers community through extensive field visit.
∎ Proactive and team player.
∎ Adaptive capacity in multicultural environment and work under pressure.
Salary: Tk. 50000 - 60000 (Monthly)
