• Good computer knowledge (MS office, typing both English and Bangla, internet browsing).

• Have willingness to work with both at national and field level

• Development of IEC materials

• Networking and communication with policy makers, government authorities, media and relevant stakeholders

Workplace: Work at office and including intensive field visit

Job Context

WAVE Foundation is a civil society organization established in 1990, has been implementing multifaceted activities for the socio economic development of the poor and marginalized as well as the establishment of universal human rights and good governance. Besides, the organization is conducting issue based policy advocacy and campaigns. WAVE is driven by its motto 'Together for Better Life’ towards the vision of establishing 'A just and Prosperous society’. WAVE has organized its activities into 6 programs: 1) Poverty Eradication and Livelihood Development 2) Community Financing and Entrepreneurship Development 3) Agri-Food System Transformation 4) Governance, Rights and Justice 5) Social Development and Youth Empowerment 6) Climate Justice and Renewable Energy Promotion. WAVE Foundation is going to implement a project titled ‘Gender Equality Transforms Climate Action (GETCA)’ under Nagorikata: Civic Engagement Fund (CEF) by GFA Consulting Group. This project aims to Increase voice, representation, recognition, and participation of civil society (especially women, youth, and members of marginalized communities) in decision-making, influencing, holding government to account, and seeking redress for violations in addressing climate change issues. The project is jointly financed by Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development (SDC), Global Affairs Canada (GAC). WAVE Foundation leads a consortium comprising 4 partners across Rajshahi and Barishal divisions. The implementation area spans 15 upazilas and 90 unions Under Barishal, Barguna, Patuakhali, Rajshahi and Naogaon districts. WAVE Foundation is seeking qualified candidate for the position of the ‘Advocacy and Campaign Officer’ of this project.

Key Responsibilities

Advocacy & Campaign Officer is responsible for program design, implementation especially on advocacy and campaign related including staff development and financial management, designing and conducting training, workshop, meeting, developing IEC materials, field level supervision and reporting to the Program Manager. His/her duties and responsibilities, which are essential but not limited to:

• Facilitate advocacy and campaign interventions of the project at local and national level

• Networking and communication with different stakeholders to initiate social and policy advoacacy

• Facilitate interventions at district, Upazila and Union levels, which may include to assist all forms of events under the guidance of Project

• Manager Assist to form Climate Advocacy Network and Civic Forum (Loak Morcha-LM)      

• Contact and coordinate with Climate Advocacy Forum (CAF), Civic Forum (Loak Morcha-LM), Local Government Institutions (LGIs), different Service Delivery Institutions (SDIs) and also with the community 

• Initiate and assist to organize different workshop, Seminar, Dialogue, meeting and training at national, district, upazila and union levels

• Provide support to the field level staffs for proper implementation     

• Identify the best practice from filed that need to incorporate in report

• Assist to conduct staff coordination meeting and prepare meeting minutes

• Responsible for developing IEC materials and online events

• Need based any other tasks or duties assigned by the senior management of the WAVE Foundation

Salary and Allowances:

• Monthly consolidated salary is BDT 44,000 with other admissible benefits as per the organization's policy/project provision.

• Salary and other admissible benefits (if any) are inclusive of all taxes as imposed by the government of Bangladesh. Taxes will be deducted at sources as per government rules.
