Key Responsibilities
Accounting Responsibilities
Maintain day-to-day accounting entries including receipts, payments, journal entries, and general ledger updates.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in coordination with the Accounts Manager.
Handle accounts payable and receivable, supplier bills, and reconciliations.
Monitor factory-related expenses, production costs, raw material consumption, and inventory records.
Assist in preparing cost sheets, product costing, and overhead allocation for food manufacturing operations.
Prepare bank reconciliation statements and maintain liaison with banks for financial transactions.
Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documents and explanations.
VAT & Tax Responsibilities
Maintain VAT books as per National Board of Revenue (NBR) regulations including:
-Mushak 6.3, 6.5, 6.6, 6.1, 6.2, 6.7
-VAT Challan (Mushak 6.3)
-Purchase & Sales Registers
Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns (Mushak 9.1) through the VAT Online System.
Ensure proper VAT deduction at source (VDS) and issuance of relevant certificates.
Ensure all suppliers follow proper VAT documentation and maintain compliance under VAT & SD Act 2012.
Handle VAT audits, queries, and inspections from NBR and Customs authorities.
Maintain accurate HS Codes, VAT rates, and classification for raw materials, packaging items, and finished goods.
Coordinate with procurement and stores department to verify VAT compliance for purchases.
Factory-Specific Responsibilities
Monitor stock movement of raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials, and finished goods.
Support production and store teams with accurate inventory valuation.
Maintain detailed cost records to support pricing decisions and production planning.
Ensure compliance with food industry regulations related to VAT documentation, labels, and packaging standards.
Regulatory & Compliance Responsibilities
Stay updated with new SROs, VAT circulars, NBR guidelines, and changes in VAT & tax laws.
Maintain compliance with Bangladesh Labour Law-related financial records where applicable.
Work closely with auditors, VAT consultants, and relevant government authorities.
