Job Context:
∎ Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) started its journey in 1988 with a noble vision to stand in solidarity with the poor and marginalized. Being a peoples` centered organization, ESDO envisioned for a society which will be free from inequality and injustice, a society where no child will cry from hunger and no life will be ruined by poverty. About three decades of relentless efforts to make this happen, ESDO has embraced new grounds and opened up new horizons to help the disadvantaged and vulnerable people bring meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. During this long span, ESDO has adapted to the changing situation and provided the most time-bound services, especially for the poor and disadvantaged. A community-focused and people-centered approach has been adopted by ESDO, while consideration was given to the national policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as its guiding principle. ESDO is one of the most dynamic organizations expanding its development interventions across 331 Upazilas under 51 districts of Bangladesh, covering over 10 million poor and vulnerable people.
∎ With the partnership of Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF), Eco-Social Development Organization ESDO is going to implement the ``Community based Resilience, Women`s Empowerment and Action (CREA) Project`` at Jamalpur with a goal "Build women`s leadership capacity and increased resilience of the most vulnerable communities to address climate change impact". To achieve this goal,as a strategy, the project has been considered the five (5) outcomes. These are Outcome-1:Service providers both public and local government institutions are responsive, and increased access to the quality services of community specially women & girls.Outcome-2:Improved resilience of the most vulnerable coastal, char, hill, and haor communities to climate change impact. Outcome-3:Empowered women and girls are dealing with inequality, social injustice, violence incidences and participated in voice raising and protests. Outcome-4:Strong voices and decisions are in place against DVAW and child marriage. Decrease in rate of child marriage and DVAW in the selected climate vulnerable areas.Outcome-5:Risks related to poverty will be decreased with increased family income and alternative livelihoods options. To reached out the maximum impacts of the goal and outcomes, ESDO is inviting applications from the dynamic, potential, self-motivated, interested and qualified candidates fulfilling the below mentioned conditions for the proposedposition.
∎ H/S is responsible for financial record keeping, management and to provide administrative and logistic support to the project including auditing, personal file maintains, ensure logistic support, financial reporting. Conduct financial monitoring and carry out periodic financial reporting to MJF.
∎ The Accounts & Admin Officer of CREA Project will provide administrative and financial support to the project team. The project is focused on building community resilience, promoting women`s empowerment and taking action to address gender-based violence in [insert location]. The Accounts & Admin Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing project budgets, and ensuring compliance with project policies and procedures. They will also provide administrative support to the project team, including coordinating project activities, maintaining project records, and liaising with project partners.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Manage and oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the organization, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting
∎ Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
∎ Prepare and present financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to senior management and the Board of Directors
∎ Develop and implement financial strategies to achieve the organization's financial goals and objectives
∎ Monitor and analyze financial performance, and recommend corrective actions to ensure that the organization's financial position remains sound
∎ Manage cash flow and financial risk, and develop and implement risk mitigation strategies
∎ Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial service providers
∎ Manage the annual audit process and ensure that all financial statements are accurate and compliant with relevant laws and regulations
∎ Financial and operational management and control
∎ Prepare financial plan/fund request/cash call for the Project.
∎ Ensure donor compliance including financial transaction, HR, program.
∎ Orient and update donors' compliance to the project staff.
∎ Key Responsibilities:
∎ Financial Management:
∎ Manage project budgets, ensuring that all expenditures are accurately recorded and in compliance with project policies and procedures.
∎ Prepare and maintain financial records, including financial reports, receipts, invoices, and bank statements.
∎ Process and reconcile project expenses, ensuring that all documentation is complete and accurate.
∎ Liaise with project partners to ensure that financial reporting requirements are met.
∎ Administrative Support:
∎ Provide administrative support to the project team, including coordinating project activities, scheduling meetings, and maintaining project records.
∎ Assist in the development of project reports, proposals, and other documents.
∎ Coordinate logistics for project events and workshops.
∎ Prepare and maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, agendas, and action items.
∎ Compliance:
∎ Ensure compliance with project policies and procedures.
∎ Maintain accurate project records and ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
∎ Assist in the preparation of project audits and other compliance-related activities.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Age limit will be relaxed for highly experience candidates.
∎ Highly experience candidates age will be flexible
∎ Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a nonprofit organization or a small to medium-sized enterprise
∎ Knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis
∎ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate financial risks
∎ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
∎ Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
∎ Proficiency in financial management software, such as QuickBooks or Xero, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
∎ Good verbal and written communication skills in local language, English and Bengali
Salary: Tk. 33000 (Monthly)
Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Two festival bonus equivalent of one month gross salary & other benefit according to the project allocation
