Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Financial reporting: Accountants prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to help investors, lenders, and customers assess a company's financial health.
∎ Auditing: Accountants conduct internal audits to evaluate internal controls and identify areas of potential risk or inefficiency. They also work with external auditors to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
∎ Bookkeeping: Accountants ensure the accuracy of bookkeeping and that it complies with state and federal laws. They also record disbursements and payments.
∎ Taxation: Accountants prepare and manage tax returns.
