Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Civil engineers plan, design, and develop projects for the built environment, such as roads, bridges, tunnels, and water systems. They use computer-aided design (CAD) software to design infrastructure systems.
∎ Civil engineers oversee construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that projects are completed on time and to high standards of safety and construction. They lead and direct construction teams, and supervise on-site progress.
∎ Civil engineers ensure that projects comply with legal guidelines, environmental directives, and health and safety requirements.
