Accountabilities:
•In collaboration with the LogCo / Technical LogCo, planning, establishing and reviewing the mechanical servicing activities in the capital and project, including its annual budget, in order to identify and give a response to the needs of the mission and the targeted population
•Monitoring and ensuring the implementation of the mechanical servicing activities in the mission ensuring compliance to MSF standards, protocols and procedures This includes the following tasks:
According to the line manager and in liaison with the drivers' line manager, organizing the schedule for periodic servicing of all vehicles (corrective, predictive and preventive) and motorized engines (generators, motor pumps, etc.), both for the capital and the field, to ensure optimal working conditions of the fleet and extend its longevity
Supervising the services performed by the drivers and/or the trainee agents, and if necessary, performing the special and complex services referred to in the Logbook deciding whether a vehicle requires an urgent or unscheduled intervention. Supervising any repair or maintenance work performed outside the MSF workshop.
Performing regular technical checks on the mechanical tools, in line with the procedures defined by the line manager, and complete the corresponding record sheets (repairs, maintenance, etc.)
Identifying the spare parts, consumables and tools required by the fleet, evaluating local providers' suitability, and according to the line manager, placing the corresponding order to ensure on time delivery, cost efficiency and quality. Monitoring incoming and outgoing deliveries of spare parts and consumables (fuels, lubricants, etc.), and informing the line manager of stock levels on a weekly basis, in order to ensure availability and rationale use as well as a continuous delivery service between the capital and the field
• In collaboration with the LogCo / Technical LogCo and the HRCo, participating in the planning and implementation of HR associated processes (recruitment, training, briefing/debriefing, evaluation, detection of potential, development and communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility.
•Participating in monthly reports according to guidelines (SitRep, Logistics Statistical Report, etc.). and implementing reporting practices and protocols in order to ensure that all vehicle documentation (certificate of registration or license, insurance certificate, vehicle test certificate, etc.) is in order and inspection reports are conveniently filled by the drivers (log book, monitoring form, repair form)
•Performing delegated tasks according to his her specialty and as specified in his/her job description
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities :
Bangladesh intersectional Vehicle and Generator Workshop Manager is responsible for the effective management, maintenance, and repair of all mission vehicles and generators. (Excluding IST Dhaka) This role ensures preventive maintenance, efficient planning, adherence to MSF standards and protocols, and cost-effective workshop operations. The manager oversees staff performance, spare parts management, reporting, and provides technical guidance to ensure fleet reliability, safety, and operational continuity.
•Ensure preventive maintenance is conducted systematically to minimize breakdowns.
•Guarantee that all repairs and servicing comply with manufacturer repair manuals and MSF standards.
•Ensure workshop safety procedures and checks are consistently followed.
•Reduce vehicle and generator immobilization time through proper planning and scheduling of activities.
•Manage the workshop team’s workload to avoid overburdening staff.
•Supervise, train, and evaluate mechanics to ensure technical capability and efficiency.
•Ensure tasks are performed within appropriate timelines and with quality standards.
•Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement in the workshop.
•Ensure buffer stock, fast-moving spare parts, consumables, and lubricants are always available.
•Plan and monitor both local and international spare parts orders, avoiding shortages and overstock.
•Reduce dead stock through accurate order forecasting and AMC (Average Monthly Consumption) analysis.
•Ensure genuine quality and competitive prices in case of local purchases through negotiation.
•Maintain proper administration and smooth flow of stock between sections.
•Communicate effectively with project teams regarding job requests, maintenance schedules, and vehicle hours/km services
•Anticipate future needs based on project plans, operational contexts, and environmental conditions.
•Organize and conduct regular meetings with IST Technical Logistics Coordinator and support visits to field projects.
•Ensure proper reporting to OCs and other stakeholders on workshop performance and assets management.
•Provide monthly reports on interventions, workshop performance, and spare parts movements.
•Report on incidents, breakdowns, safety/security issues, or out-of-standard repairs.
•Advise OCs on asset management, declassification, usage, and training needs.
•Improve workshop cost-effectiveness through efficient workload distribution and resource use.
•Ensure timely replacement of parts to extend asset life and reduce costs.
•Promote a results-oriented service culture with a strong focus on quality and accountability.
•Identify training needs and propose capacity-building initiatives for workshop staff.
•Stay updated on new vehicle technologies (e.g. hybrid maintenance) and train the team accordingly.
•Contribute to fleet evolution by providing technical advice and participating in fleet management strategies.
•Analyze workshop results/performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
•Provide technical guidance on the workshop floor to mechanics.
•Identify skills gaps in technicians and provide training as required.
Contract and Benefit:
Permanent contract renewable based on performance and operational needs. Salary according to level Nine (9) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 133500 Gross). Salary is non-negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule.
2 annual leave days per month worked.
Medical Reimbursement for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.
Others: There will be no provisions for relocation.
