Education:
Essential: BSc in Nursing OR Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery With valid BNMC registration.
Desirable: Diploma or Specialized Course in paediatric, Critical care Nursing OR Palliative care.
Experience:
Essential: Working experience of at least 1 years as Nurse in a Hospital setting.
Preferable: Working experience as Nurse in NGO/INGO or working experience in MSF.
Desireable: Working experience in NICU, PICU, CCU.
Training:
Desirable: ALS, BLS, IPC Courses.
Language: Mission language (English and Bangla) essential. Chittagonian is desirable.

Accountabilities:
• Knowing, implementing and following up the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio-hazard prevention and infection control, security rules and other protocols and procedures in the medical premises and ensuring high standards of hygiene of his/her working environment. Respecting medical secrets and confidentiality at all times.
• Organizing and carrying out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions, and assisting during consultations, daily rounds and other medical procedures. Participating in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary.
• Identifying Sexually Gender Based Violence victims and referring them to the medical team so they can receive the necessary treatment (PEP Kit)
• Ensuring patients are properly received and installed and that those with lack of autonomy are assisted, especially regarding their feeding, personal hygiene, movements and comfort. For ER and OPD nurse, ensuring triage of patients in waiting areas, wards or during emergencies, detecting the priority acute/emergency cases, carrying out first aid care and referring them to the doctor when necessary
• Carrying out admission, monitoring and follow-up of patients (i.e. assessment, and early identification of deterioration and actively responds according to MSF standards.
• Carrying and supervising administrative procedures and documents (fill in patient’s files, forms, consumptions, statistics, registers, health files, etc.), ensuring an appropriate written/oral handover, and reporting any problematic situations and cases that may arise. Participating in data collection and keeping doctors/supervisors informed
• Participating in the department-related pharmacy and medical equipment control and maintenance (quality and its functioning, storage conditions, follow-up of expired drugs inventories, stock takes of medicines and material at every team changeover ensuring no material is taken out of nursing area/wards without prior authorization, etc.) Sending medical equipment to be sterilized and retrieves it from sterilization
• Strictly follows isolation techniques while caring for patients with unconfirmed and confirmed communicable Disease.
• Supervising and training nurse-aids, nutritional assistants, cleaners and other related staff under his/her supervision, ensuring teamwork and adherence to all appropriate protocols and procedures.
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:
• Ensure a complete holistic nursing care for the patients in any ward (IPD, OPD, ER, Isolation) including disable handicapped/Abundant/Homeless patients by supporting bed bath, back care, mouth care, feeding, Catheterization care, moving and positioning and all other comfort and supportive patient care.
• Provide complete Newborn care including proper maintenance of syringe pump, infusion pump, infant warmer & photo therapy machines, close monitoring of CPAP patient, support mother for breast feeding technique with proper explanation and follow up.
• Emergency Triage Assessment & Management following ABCDE and identification of urgent patients requiring priority consultation.
• Participate wound care according to MSF wound care protocols & assist minor procedures by following the standard IPC measures.
• Need to participate in patient referral as a transfer nurse up to Chittagong medical college hospital and need to ensure MSF standard patient care inside the ambulance, follow the transfer nurse’s responsibility assigned by the Supervisors. Ensure emergency box in ambulance with continuous monitoring & regularly updated the patient condition to Focal point.
• Evaluating the condition of the patient by medical history and general physical exam and documenting the results in the patient files / register. In case of any deviation escalate immediately, speak out for the patient and communicate accordingly.
• Need to ensure supportive nursing care ensuring full term presence with patient if the patient need to transfer for X-ray, dressings and Minor procedures outside of the department.
• Ensure proper education patient on discharge about his/her continuous medication & warning signs and drug adverse effect, provide health education case by case according to nursing guideline.
• Make sure patient understand the medical treatment including follow-up and ensure that the patient is well aware of his illness and whole treatment plan, take inform consent before doing any procedure.
• Ensure the nutritional assessments are done/cross-checked in the department before & after admitting each and every pediatric patient.
• Participate & follow the MSF IPC standard & instructed by the Supervisors or AMR focal point etc.
• Ensure proper minor maintenance of bio-medical devices according to standard MSF protocols following regular checklist and report Supervisor immediately if anything damaged or need to be replaced.
• Inspect that registers and patient consultation forms are correctly filled in.
• Document morbidity, mortality, Discharged HIS are correctly filled in out and sent to the Data room and ensure the list filled in.
• Follow up the tasks of other team members like hygiene agent, Health assistant, Nutrition assistant, give guidance and give feedback to their line manager.
• Actively participate in the home & Community based patient palliative care whenever needed by the organization.
• Keep a continuous learning attitude, be updated on standard procedures and protocols. Support the peer if any gap in identified and support the new colleagues.
Contract and Benefit: 1-12 month- contract renewable based on performance and operational needs. Salary according to Level Five (5) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 68500 Gross). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.
Others: There is no provisions for relocation. 2 Festival Bonuses after completion of one year of uninterrupted continuous service.
