Job Context:
∎ About Terre des hommes:
∎ Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh) is the leading Swiss INGO focusing on child rights. It is active in more than 30 countries with development and emergency projects. Tdh interventions are focused on the three programs: Health, Migration and Access to Justice particularly for vulnerable children. Tdh Foundation has a transversal approach towards Child Protection programming and it cuts across all the thematic areas while also has been considered as one of the key value propositions in its business model. The Child Protection expertise within Tdh Foundation aims to develop high quality, evidence-based knowledge and know-how adapted to fragile contexts, conflict zones, and development to improve the protection of children`s rights and their right to protection from all forms of violence (art 19, 34 CRC) in collaboration with and in support of the three core programs. The Tdh Foundation global strategy 2021-2024 specifies that the will have demonstrated that rights-based participation, empowerment, and active involvement of children and communities in defining and implementing responses are essential to improve child protection.
∎ Context:
∎ Tdh is working in Bangladesh since 1974, with operations in Kurigram district, Dhaka district and Cox Bazaar district. Currently, Tdh is implementing programs on Health, Access to Justice (social cohesion and conflict resolution) and Migration, integrated by the transversal expertise WASH and Child protection. Tdh interventions in Bangladesh are both in development and emergency context.
∎ Following the massive displacement of more than 800,000 people into Bangladesh since the end of August 2017, Tdh has put in place an important emergency response plan to provide relief to the Rohingya refugees, notably on Health, WASH, Child Protection and Social cohesion. Alongside, Tdh is implementing the CLARISSA project in Dhaka slums aiming to build a strong evidence base and generate innovative solutions to the worst forms of child labour (WFCL) and will explore how to take these solutions to scale.
∎ Tdh in Bangladesh has started the process of integration of emergency and development approaches and aims to capitalize its institutional learning for further programme expansion and to create critical pathways for evidence-based advocacy.
∎ Under the direct management of the Waste Management Team Leader, ensuring the effective implementation of the waste management activities according to implementation guidelines, standards and procedures in order to contribute to the Waste Management/Hygiene Promotion and delivery of qualitative waste management activities in the area of intervention.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Ensure, at the field level, that assigned activities are implemented according to the program work plan and methodology validated by the Waste Management Team Leader and WASH Program Manager.
∎ Support the line manager in the preparation of weekly, monthly and annual activity planning.
∎ Under the supervision of the Waste Management Team Leader, prepare weekly achievements report.
∎ Support the Waste Management Team Leader on daily workers/volunteers payment.
∎ Assist the Waste Management Team Leader in preparing of IEC/BCC Materials and monitor the distribution of IEC materials to be used at the community (refugees & host) level.
∎ Ensure the proper dissemination of WASH messages to the community at the grass-root level.
∎ Supervise/organize on a daily basis the implementation of program activities on the field and report to the line manager.
∎ Plan and conduct different community WASH meetings by using different promotional approaches/topics.
∎ Produces activity progress reports as per the preset reporting schedule and submits to the supervisor.
∎ Support and/or lead basic training, meeting/sessions and HH’s visit at the Field level.
∎ Monitor the achievements for assigned activities and report to the line manager.
∎ Ensure monitoring tools are used, filled and followed.
∎ Identify beneficiaries based on relevant selection criteria approved by the Waste Management Team Leader and WASH Program Manager.
∎ Explain to the beneficiaries the planned waste management/HP activities like meeting/session, HH’s visit, distribution, camp and drain cleaning, waste management, health hazard, day observation etc.
∎ Participate in data collection and needs assessment at the field level.
∎ Plan and ensure the proper distribution of Non-Food Items, and will assist to WASH infrastructure team for the construction purpose (different types of hygiene kits, aqua tabs, handwashing devices, communal garbage bin installation, disable and toilet construction etc.).
∎ Support the program to collect data during the KAP/baseline/midline/endline survey.
∎ Works closely with Waste Management Field Agent and volunteers towards efficient and effective implementation of the waste management activities which relate to HP.
∎ Participate in different types of training on WASH.
∎ Have and promote good behavior on the field.
∎ This list of activities is not exhaustive and additional activities may be requested by Tdh management according to the needs of the project.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Proven experience with (I)NGO in relief context (2 to 3 years)
∎ Experience in Waste management/HP activities such as session/meeting conduction, HH’s visit, NFI distribution reporting etc.
∎ Ability to accomplish assigned tasks accurately and by established deadlines
∎ Fluency in the local language will be considered as a plus
∎ Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
∎ Excellent organization and communication skills
∎ Professionalism and thoroughness, good capacity to work under pressure
∎ Person with disability are encouraged to apply
