1. Pre-wash Control

• Review wash comments, tech pack, and buyer requirements before production

• Confirm fabric composition, shrinkage, color fastness requirements

• Verify approved wash standard (PP sample / sealed sample / wash standard swatch)

• Coordinate with washing factory to ensure correct recipe and process setup

• Identify potential risks before bulk washing (shade variation, fabric damage, etc.)

2. In-process Control

• Monitor bulk washing process (Dying, Normal Wash,etc.)

• Check washing parameters: temperature, time, chemical usage

• Conduct inline inspection to identify shade variation, damage, or defects

• Ensure consistency between lots and batches

• Coordinate with factory technicians for immediate correction if deviation found

3. Quality Inspection

• Perform inspection after washing:

  • Shade consistency

  • Measurement after wash

  • Fabric strength / damage

  • Hand feel

• Compare with approved standard and buyer requirements

• Identify defects such as back staining, patchy color, uneven wash, etc.

• Ensure garments meet AQL or buyer-specific quality standards

4. Problem Solving

• Analyze root causes of washing defects

• Provide feedback to washing factory and production team

• Suggest corrective and preventive actions

• Follow up rewash / correction process

5. Follow-up & Coordination

• Track washing production progress and ensure on-time delivery

• Coordinate between garment factory, washing factory, and merchandiser

• Update daily status reports (washing status, issues, risks)

• Ensure priority styles are handled as per shipment plan

6. Reporting & Communication

• Prepare washing inspection reports with photos

• Report issues clearly to merchandiser / buyer

• Maintain proper records of wash approvals and corrections

• Communicate effectively in English (written & spoken)

Ensure all washing processes meet buyer standards in terms of quality, shade, hand feel, and consistency, while maintaining production efficiency and minimizing risk.
