Responsibilities & Context:

This role is essential for managing and streamlining warehouse operations, ensuring accuracy in stock handling, and optimizing warehouse resources. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in warehouse systems, team leadership, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain effective warehouse management systems to support operations, including manufacturing, distribution, and planning functions.

  • Oversee operational procedures for verifying incoming and outgoing stock, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.

  • Ensure efficient utilization of warehouse space and handling equipment, meeting quality, budgetary, and environmental targets.

  • Collaborate with the import team to track and manage the proper storage of all incoming materials

  • Keep stock control systems updated to maintain accuracy in storing, issuing, and tracking inventory.

  • Forecast future capacity needs and allocate resources accordingly to optimize warehouse operations.

  • Motivate, organize, and encourage teamwork among staff to meet or exceed productivity targets.

  • Provide monthly reconciliation reports for incoming and outgoing stock to the Finance Department.

  • Meet audit compliance requirements and collaborate with the compliance team to address and close any open issues.

  • Ensure documentation for hazardous chemicals is up to date for compliance with social and buyer audits.

  • Create a second-level succession plan and focus on resource capacity development to maintain workforce readiness.

  • Prepare and deliver training programs for non-staff workers to build skills and knowledge in warehouse operations.

  • Lead daily management discussions and solve issues promptly to ensure smooth operations.

  • Conduct monthly and weekly 5S audits, reporting findings to the managing team to maintain a well-organized warehouse.

  • Organize yearly physical inventory counts and ensure accuracy by matching physical stock with SAP system records.

  • Implement category management processes and collaborate on min/max functionality to enhance inventory management at the store and distributor levels.

  • Prepare claims for shortages, damages, or excess materials, and work with the procurement team to implement corrective action
