Our donor Muslim Hands UK is an international relief and development NGO, established in 1993 working both directly and with partners in over forty countries, carrying out short and long-term projects in emergency relief, educational and vocational training, orphan sponsorship, medical care and safe water.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Summary of Position: As a volunteer Construction Monitor for a rural mosque project, the primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth and safe progress of the construction work. This role is crucial in ensuring that the mosque is built according to the approved plans and specifications while adhering to relevant regulations and standards.
∎ Construction Oversight: Regularly visit the construction site to monitor the progress of the mosque construction.
∎ Ensure that the construction work aligns with the approved layout plans, structural designs, and specifications.
∎ Verify that the construction materials being used are of the required quality and meet the specified standards.
∎ Identify any deviations from the approved plans and specifications and communicate them to the project stakeholders promptly.
∎ Safety and Compliance: Promote a safe working environment by monitoring adherence to construction safety regulations and practices.
∎ Ensure compliance with local building codes, permits, and regulations.
∎ Collaborate with construction personnel to address any safety concerns or non-compliance issues.
∎ Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of site visits, inspections, and observations.
∎ Prepare regular progress reports highlighting the status of the construction work, any issues encountered, and proposed solutions.
∎ Document and report any changes or modifications made during the construction process.
∎ Communication and Collaboration: Liaise with the project focal, construction team, and mosque committee to ensure effective coordination and communication.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Shall have at least 1 year working experiences as a Volunteer.
∎ Language: Fluency in verbal and written (Bangla and English) is mandatory.
∎ Other Qualifications: A passion for community service and a strong interest in construction and infrastructure development.
∎ Knowledge of construction practices, materials, and safety standards is preferred.
∎ Strong attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies or potential issues.
∎ Good communication skills to effectively convey information to different stakeholders.
∎ Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating reliability and accountability.
∎ Flexibility to adjust work hours as per the construction schedule and project needs.
∎ Prior experience in construction monitoring or related fields is an advantage but not mandatory.
