Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor degree in Agriculture/Agriculture Engineering/Water management or in the relevant subjects.
∎ Working experience as trainer in the relevant field at least 3 years.
∎ Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in learning and instructional design and the measurement of training effects.
∎ Good command over written and spoken in English and Bangla
∎ Demonstrated ability to create accurate, well written training materials.
∎ Able to drive motorbike with valid driving license.
∎ Good computer skill.

Job Context:
∎ Uttaran in partnership with Solidaridad Network Asia (SNA) started implementing SAFAL For Integrated Water Resource Management Project (SAFAL for IWRM) in Southwest Bangladesh. The project put forward a community-based water management model for enhancing sustainable use, protection and restoration of Watersheds for resilient agriculture through operationalization of IWRM in Southwest Bangladesh. It will improve and diversify coastal agriculture of Bangladesh through innovative ecosystem-based water and land use planning that would provide greater climate resiliency and economic return for the coastal communities. The project outlined following three pathways to achieve the overall goal-
∎ Pathway 1: Climate Smart and Regenerative Agriculture Production System to improve water use efficiency and soil fertility
∎ Pathway 2: Watershed Protection to ensure sustainable harness of ground and surface water for irrigation
∎ Pathway 3: Watershed management and governance to ensure equitable access to water use for irrigation.
∎ To implement the project, Uttaran is seeking the following position for its project interventions area in Khulna, Bagerhat and Satkhira districts.
∎ Training Officer:
∎ The Training Officer is overall responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing and evaluating a wide range of capacity development activities for the staff and targeted beneficiaries of SAFAL for IWRM project. S/he also responsible for capturing and documenting the project learning and sharing with the relevant stakeholders. The Training Officer is accountable for identifying skill and knowledge gap of the staff and project beneficiaries, developing required training materials, organizing and facilitating capacity building activities. The position will be based at Khulna/Jashore and is reportable to the Project Manager of SAFAL for IWRM project. S/he also needs to work closely with the Solidaridad Project Team to plan and implement appropriate capacity building and learning initiatives to achieve the outputs and outcomes of the programme. The position requires intensive field visit with at least 60% time in the field.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assessment of knowledge and skill gap of project staff and target beneficiaries and development of capacity building plan for project staff and target beneficiaries.
∎ Development of training materials on Climate Smart Agriculture/Regenerative Agriculture, efficient use of water in agriculture, micro watershed assessment and selection for restoration, governance in the Watershed committee and executive committee of Local Water Users Group based on identified knowledge and skill gap of project staff and targeted beneficiaries.
∎ Development of capacity building plan for project staff and project beneficiaries and implementation of the plan through organizing and facilitating capacity building activities.
∎ Develop and implement a system of evaluation of trainings and monitoring of capacity building and learning initiatives;
∎ In coordination with programme staff, contribute to achieving set indicators of the result chain
∎ Work with the Monitoring and Evaluation team to develop appropriate data collection system.
∎ Review, evaluate, and modify training curricula available within the project or from other public-private sources where appropriate.
∎ Identify technical expertise required, procure and seek inputs from Project implementation team as needed.
∎ Maintain necessary liaison with the local, national and international knowledge institutes for exploring CSA/RA and water use efficiency technologies.
∎ Support field staff in designing demonstration and trial plots on the above-mentioned technologies, provide backstopping support and guidance to the field staff for establishing and monitoring the demo and trial plots.
∎ Monitor the quality of training inputs and provide support as required. Monitor training costs, ensure costs are reasonable, allowable and within the budget.
∎ Analyze performance feedback and results. Modify/improve training materials as required.
∎ Document and disseminate the package of learning interventions and their outcomes.
∎ Prepare the training report, capture learning and develop learning document.
∎ Support Project Manager for enhancing team spirit and creating enabling environment within the team.
∎ Engage with the activities as would be assign by the supervisor
