Responsibilities & Context:
1. Mulberry Cultivation & Management
Learn and practice proper techniques for planting, pruning, and managing mulberry trees.
Collect and select high-quality mulberry leaves daily to feed the silkworms.
Assist in monitoring soil health, fertilizer application, and irrigation schedules.
2. Silkworm Rearing & Care
Handle the silkworm incubation process from eggs to larvae.
Maintain strict feeding schedules for silkworms across different growth stages.
Monitor and regulate environmental conditions (temperature and humidity) in the rearing room.
Inspect silkworms daily to detect, isolate, and report any signs of disease or infection.
3. Cocoon Harvesting & Silk Processing
Assist in placing mature larvae onto mounting frames (chandrika) for cocoon formation.
Harvest cocoons carefully once they are fully formed.
Sort and grade cocoons based on size, color, and quality.
Participate in the stifling (boiling) and reeling process to extract raw silk yarn.
4. Data Management & Reporting
Gather raw data from multiple sources and input it accurately
