Responsibilities & Context:
Follow and enforce the company’s quality policies and procedures in SMT assembly, including PCB handling, soldering, reflow, and component placement, to ensure consistent product quality.
Evaluate, implement, and monitor SMT-specific quality procedures and operating systems, including operator training on Solder Paste Inspection (SPI), Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), and Pick & Place machine operations.
Establish and maintain SMT quality systems such as work instructions, boundary samples, defect logs, and change logs to achieve zero-defect performance on all PCB assemblies.
Drive ongoing product and process improvements in SMT lines, provide on-the-floor technical support, and troubleshoot critical issues like tombstoning, solder bridging, or component misalignment.
Verify machine parameters for reflow ovens, wave soldering, and pick-and-place equipment according to SOPs, follow up on BOM, material codes, and component specifications, and detect any abnormalities in SMT processes.
Ensure production equipment and process controls in SMT lines are statistically capable of meeting product-specific quality requirements, and lead continuous improvement initiatives for defect reduction and yield enhancement.
Maintain and improve the SMT Quality Assurance System, including inspection plans, process controls, defect analysis, and compliance monitoring, to ensure overall high-quality PCB assembly performance.
Perform any other tasks or responsibilities assigned by management or quality authorities to support production and maintain operational excellence.
