Requirements: Skills Required: Additional Requirements: Proven experience 8 years in livelihood-project management and implementation.
Strong understanding of livelihood interventions, income-generation strategies, and poverty alleviation approaches.
Ability to capitalize on past experience, existing networks and information existing (both internal and external to Pulse BD) in order to become self-sufficient quickly
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
Ability to work effectively in a team and build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Familiarity with project management tools and software.
Fluency in [relevant languages if applicable].
Work experience in the Rohingya camp context in Ukhiya / Teknaf is required.
Commitment to community development, social justice, and empowerment.
Knowing Cox’s bazar local language is highly preferred.
Responsibilities & Context: Job Description:
Position Overview: The Technical Officer for the Routes to Self-Sufficiency: Sustainable Livelihoods and Empowerment for Rohingya Refugees and host community project will play a crucial role in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the livelihood project initiatives. This role involves working closely with project stakeholders, beneficiaries, and team members to ensure effective project execution and positive impact on the targeted community.
Reported to: Project Manager
This position is based in Ukhiya project office.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Design:
- Collaborate with project managers to develop detailed project plans, including objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
- Conduct thorough needs assessments and beneficiary consultations to identify livelihood opportunities and challenges.
- Design sustainable and contextually relevant livelihood interventions based on the assessed needs and project goals.
- Implementation and Coordination:
- Oversee the day-to-day implementation of livelihood activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Coordinate with local partners, community leaders, and beneficiaries to ensure smooth project execution.
- Organize training sessions, workshops, and capacity-building activities to enhance beneficiaries' skills and knowledge.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track project progress, outcomes, and impacts.
- Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of livelihood interventions and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular progress reports for project management and donors, highlighting achievements and challenges.
Community Engagement:
- Foster strong relationships with project beneficiaries and community members, promoting their active participation and ownership in project activities.
- Conduct regular community meetings to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure the project's alignment with community needs.
- Financial Management:
- Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure efficient utilization of funds for livelihood initiatives.
- Prepare financial reports and ensure compliance with funding guidelines and regulations.
Capacity Building:
- Provide training and mentorship to project staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries to enhance their skills and knowledge related to livelihood activities.
- Support the development of sustainable income-generating opportunities for beneficiaries.
Networking and Partnerships:
- Collaborate with government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise.
- Represent the organization in relevant forums, workshops, and meetings related to livelihood and community development.
Safeguarding and PSEA:
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme’s goals on safeguarding and PSEA implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment. Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
