∎ At least 3 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Provide Tax and VAT opinion to Accounts Payable, SCM and other related team as per requirements;
∎ Arrange quarterly installment of corporate advance income tax payment and manage to deposit the same in respective tax circle;
∎ Prepare monthly and semi-annual withholding tax return as per prescribed format of the income tax law and arrange for submission to the tax authority on timely manner;
∎ Calculate monthly and yearly expatriate income tax and provide required entries including accruals in JDE financials with necessary approval;
∎ Prepare and submission of monthly VAT Return to tax authority;
∎ Preparation of tax returns of national and expatriate employee u/s 108 and 108A of the Income Tax Ordinance, 1984 and submission to the tax authority on timely manner;
∎ Provide monthly expatriate employees income tax information (TIPS Report), corresponding tax clearance certificate and address necessary queries to respective business units;
∎ Incorporation Tax and VAT law changes made through Finance Act in every year and monitor SRO's and circulars issued by NBR and their impact analysis;
∎ Review and reconcile national employee income tax statement (current vs last month) and process tax payment;
∎ Obtain Power of Attorney (PoA) for tax return preparation on behalf of expatriate employee;
∎ Work with HR and external tax attorney to obtain e-TIN of the new expatriate employee;
∎ Work with external tax attorney to prepare the expatriate employees income tax return and submission on time;
∎ Administer VAT software integration and management with JDE in line with NBR requirements;
∎ Maintain Purchase and Sales Account Register as per VAT and SD Act 2012;
∎ Advise Accounts payable team and vendors for correctness of VAT challan (Mushak 6.3 and other related documents) to comply with regulatory requirements;
∎ Work with external tax attorney for collection of withholding Tax and VAT Treasury Challan;
∎ Prepare tax withholding certificate for all vendors;
∎ Prepare and issue VAT certificate (Mushak 6.6) to the appropriate vendors;
∎ Provide necessary support to Internal & external auditors and Petrobangla auditors;
∎ Liaison with Tax and VAT authority on regular basis;
∎ Participation on dispute resolution matters with vendors;
∎ Performing account reconciliation on periodic basis;
∎ Other Financial tasks as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
∎ In depth knowledge on fiscal laws particularly Tax and VAT & SD Act, 2012
∎ Applicant should have minimum 3-year(s) working experience in Tax (VAT/ Customs Duty/ Income Tax) area of multinational Companies
∎ Liaison with Tax authority and others related wing
∎ Proficient in MS office and ERP based systems (Preferably JD Edwards)
∎ Strong analytical and communication ability
∎ High level professional integrity
