We are hiring a remote Steel Fabrication Estimator to support a US-based metal fabrication shop. You will manage the full estimating and bid process for commercial steel fabrication projects.

Responsibilities:

- Review commercial construction plans and perform detailed steel/metal fabrication takeoffs

- Produce material-only and material-plus-install cost estimates using US pricing

- Communicate directly with general contractors via email to clarify scope, specifications, and project details

- Prepare and submit competitive bid packages on behalf of the shop

- Track all active bids and follow up on submissions in a shared spreadsheet

- Coordinate with shop management on pricing strategy and capacity

Requirements:

- Must own PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or equivalent takeoff software

- Experience estimating for US steel/metal fabrication projects

- Strong understanding of US imperial measurements, steel materials, and fabrication processes

- Proficiency in US construction bid processes and terminology

- Strong written English — you will be emailing GCs directly

- Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets

- Reliable internet connection and ability to work US business hours as needed

Preferred:

- Experience with structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or ornamental metal fabrication

- Familiarity with AISC standards

- Previous experience working remotely for a US fabrication shop or contractor

Pay: $400 month depending on experience
