Experience:
Master’s degree preferably in Social Science, Development studies, Economics, Statistics or relevant subject from any reputed university.
Minimum 5-8 years of progressive experience in development sector.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Monitoring and Evaluation field, including designing and implementing M&E systems for donor-funded programs.
Previous experience in community-based organization (CBO) capacity building, peacebuilding, or social cohesion initiatives.
Experience in facilitating learning, reflection, and knowledge-sharing processes, including documentation of best practices and lessons learned.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant project management and reporting software.
Key Competencies:
Strong understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation systems in multi-sectoral development.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
Strong capacity to develop monitoring plans, reporting templates, and dashboards to track project performance, outputs, and outcomes.
Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
Good understanding of Gender, Gender Based Violence, and prevention.
Good understanding of child safeguarding and equality for girls.
Commitment to gender equality, child protection, PSEA and related principles (Desirable).
Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively in high-pressure environments.
Job Context:
Friends In Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) is going to implement Ashroy (Advancing Child Rights for Resilient Growth in Haors of Sylhet District) and Surokkha (Protect the Rights, Promote the Growth) Projects with support from Kindernothilfe (KNH). Both the Projects’ aim is to create a protective, inclusive and enabling environment in Haor and Tea worker communities from Sylhet Sadar, Kanaighat and Jaintapur Upazila where children-especially the most marginalized are safe, respected and supported to reach their full potential. The key changes envisioned are:

Child-centered climate change adaptation and mitigation

The Projects’ period is from April 2026 to December 2030. By the end of these projects, Haor and Tea worker communities will have a reduced incidence of child rights violations, more supportive parenting and household practices and a network of empowered adolescents able to advocate for themselves. Duty bearers will be more responsive and systems for protection more robust and inclusive, ensuring sustainable safeguarding of children beyond the project lifecycle.
Job Summary:
The Sponsorship and Monitoring Officer is responsible for ensuring the technical integrity of project data and maintaining the vital link between sponsored children and donors. Working within the KNH-supported Ashroy and Surokkha projects, the officer will oversee Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) frameworks across Sylhet Sadar, Kanaighat, and Jaintapur Upazilas. The primary goal is to track progress toward creating protective and inclusive environments for marginalized children in Haor and Tea worker communities, ensuring all data collection remains child-centered and aligned with KNH standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement M&E plans, tools, and frameworks aligned with project goals and KNH requirements.
Ensure timely and accurate data collection, entry, analysis, and reporting from field level.
Ensure data quality and integrity by conducting regular data validation, cross-checks, and consistency reviews at all levels of data collection and entry.
Maintain proper documentation and filing of data and evidence (both soft and hard copies), ensuring organized storage and easy retrieval.
Support baseline, annual and end line surveys, and other assessments or evaluations.
Develop and maintain databases or dashboards to track project indicators, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of all project data.
Ensure proper documentation and filing (soft and hard copies) of data and evidence.
Analyze quantitative and qualitative data and produce reports.
Provide training and guidance to field staff on proper data collection, reporting, and management practices to maintain high data quality standards.
Any other responsibilities as assigned by the FIVDB authority, beyond those explicitly stated in the JD/ToR.
