∎ Familiarity with country health and surveillance systems and knowledge of program design, development, and implementation preferred.
∎ Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) are required to effectively implement, analyze, monitor, and manage activity goals, inputs, outcomes, and achievements
∎ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bangla.
∎ Demonstrated experience supervising, mentoring, and training staff;
∎ Able to travel to project City offices
∎ Must be able to maintain confidentiality for all project and staff proprietary matters.
∎ Able to work independently by managing priorities and workload within the general work schedule, instructions, and standardized practices.
∎ Takes initiative and can start/complete tasks with basic direction.
∎ Demonstrated competence in assessing priorities, managing various activities in a time-sensitive environment, and meeting deadlines with attention to detail and quality of deliverables.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Work closely with the senior advisor HSS and the MERL team to develop HMIS guidelines and protocols for the UHA project following the national HMIS guidelines.
∎ Assist LHAs in strengthening existing information systems and responsive to the needs of the CAMs.
∎ As needed, contribute to design project surveys, M&E tools, and other data collection tools. Jointly with LHAs, continuously assess and identify gaps and needs in the respective CAM's information systems.
∎ Ensure technical support, information system utilization training, and updates for CAMs' technical staff.
∎ In coordination with the DGHS's National MIS team, provide technical support on DHIS2 software management, software maintenance, implementation monitoring, supportive supervision, in-time feedback, technical troubleshooting, and on-the-job training as necessary to the CAMs.
∎ Review and customize existing and develop, if necessary, training materials for users on public health information, hospital information, and infectious diseases (Dengue, COVID-19, Birdflue).
∎ Work with the DGHS national and city-level HMIS team to improve data quality, promote data use at all levels, and assist LHAs in preparing the data assurance plan and data use framework for relevant levels of the urban health system.
∎ Perform routine analysis and share monthly HMIS analysis reports with the UHA MERL team and other relevant team members for tracking and evaluating UHA progress.
∎ Closely work with the MERL team on data quality assurance in regards to providing quality data to the monthly, quarterly, and final project reports·
∎ Job Summary:
∎ The Specialist - HMIS is a full-time position with the Bangladesh Urban Health Activity in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Specialist – HMIS will report to Sr. Advisor HSS and play a pivotal role in the project as the data analyst and information manager. His or her responsibilities include managing the information system and analyzing project and external data to provide decision support for project implementation. His or her work is crucial in enhancing data collection by the CAM and using key health indicators by MOHFW, including national surveillance systems for tracking Dengue, COVID-19, and other infectious diseases. He or she will also assist CAMs (City Corporations & Municipalities) in improving the capacity for data collection, managing, and using information for rapid and effective decision-making.
