Educational Requirements:
∎ Master of Education (M.Ed) in TEFL, TESOL,EFL,ESOL,ELT
∎ Education to first-degree level or equivalent
∎ A recognised language teaching qualification
∎ For the teaching qualification, this could be one of the following:
∎ 1. a TEFL/TESOL qualification from a recognised institution(minimum certificate level)
∎ 2. EFL/ESOL-related studies completed as part of an undergraduate/postgraduate course from a recognised institution (minimum certificate level)
∎ 3. a degree in an educational field where a component of the syllabus was focused on ELT, language teaching or English language and/or literacy.
∎ Undergraduate degree with EFL/ESOL focus
∎ Post Graduate Certificate with EFL/ESOL focus
∎ Post Graduate Diploma with EFL/ESOL focus
∎ Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics
∎ MA Teaching in ESL
∎ MA/MSc with EFL/ESOL focus
∎ MA/MSc/MS Applied Linguistics
∎ MA/MSc TESOL
∎ Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults(CELTA)
∎ Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (Delta)
∎ Trinity College London Certificate in TESOL (CertTESOL)
∎ Trinity College London Licentiate Diploma in TESOL
∎ Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) if Band 3 or Band 4 has been achieved
∎ Certificate in English Language Teaching – Primary (CELT-P)
∎ Certificate in English Language Teaching – Secondary (CELT-S)
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 2 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assessing the designated cohort of examination candidates’ speaking ability in accordance with the issued Guidance and Code of Practice for Speaking Examiners and Team Leaders;
∎ Uploading necessary details to the Cambridge Assessment English portal in due time;
∎ Be accepting of the monitoring processes by the TL during examinations;
∎ Adhering to all the rules of EduCan International and Cambridge Assessment English during examinations;
∎ Dealing with professional issues or complaints raised by candidates, guardians or teachers;
∎ Acting in a professional manner;
∎ Being very punctual with examination schedules;
∎ Advising the CEM of any changes in your SE status that need to be communicated to Cambridge English;
∎ Be available to carry out an agreed number of exams each year/session;
∎ Comply with confidentiality requirements and any instructions with regard to assessment and procedural matters;
∎ SE's should complete the training, nomination, certification of assessment (CofA) and certification of procedure (CofP) before being able to examine candidates for the first time. Where the CofA and CofP is done annually to maintain the quality of examination practices.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 60 years
∎ Proof of substantial, relevant, teaching experience within the last 2 to 3 years ideally equivalent to at least 1,800 hours.
