About the Position
Asian University for Women Laboratory School is seeking a qualified and experienced Economics Teacher to join its academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Economics to students in Grades 9–10 following the Cambridge curriculum.
The ideal candidate will have strong subject knowledge, effective classroom management skills, and previous teaching experience. Experience in teaching Accounting will be considered an added advantage, and candidates with the ability to teach both Economics and Accounting will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities
● Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Economics lessons for Grade 9–10 in accordance with the Cambridge curriculum.
● Prepare students for Cambridge O Level examinations through effective instruction, assessment, examination techniques, and past-paper practice.
● Develop lesson plans, schemes of work, assignments, projects, assessments, and other learning resources.
● Use student-centered and inquiry-based teaching approaches to develop students' analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
● Connect economic theories and concepts with current events and real-world economic issues.
● Assess student learning regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback.
● Monitor and document student progress and contribute to academic reports and parent communication.
● Differentiate instruction to accommodate students with diverse learning needs and abilities.
● Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
● Teach Accounting, where required, based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
● Collaborate with teachers and academic staff to support interdisciplinary learning and student development.
● Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, school events, parent meetings, and other school-wide initiatives.
● Contribute to the development of a collaborative, multicultural, and internationally oriented school community.
● Undertake other academic responsibilities assigned by the school administration.
Qualifications and Requirements
● A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Accounting, Business, Education, or a related field.
● Strong academic knowledge of Economics.
● Previous teaching experience is strongly preferred.
● Experience teaching Cambridge O Level/IGCSE Economics will be highly valued.
● Strong English language communication and interpersonal skills.
● Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.
● Ability to design and deliver effective lessons aligned with Cambridge learning objectives.
● Ability to use technology and digital resources effectively to support teaching and learning.
● Ability to work effectively in a diverse, multicultural, and international educational environment.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
● Previous experience teaching Cambridge O Level/IGCSE Economics.
● Experience teaching Accounting, particularly at secondary or O Level/IGCSE level.
● Experience preparing students for Cambridge examinations and working with Cambridge assessment frameworks.
● Relevant teaching qualifications or Cambridge-related professional development.
● Experience working in an international school or university-affiliated school.
● A demonstrated record of supporting students to achieve strong academic outcomes.
