  • Solid understanding of Cambridge Secondary standards and exam administration processes

  • Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, lesson observation, and performance feedback

  • Experience handling student pastoral care and safeguarding matters

  • Strong written and spoken English; confident communicating with parents and external stakeholders

Preferred

  • Prior experience as a Vice Principal, Assistant Head, Deputy Head, or Academic Coordinator

  • Familiarity with the Cambridge Professional Development (PD) framework

We are looking for a Vice Principal to support the Principal in the day-to-day academic leadership and operational running of the school — someone who can maintain teaching quality, manage staff, oversee student wellbeing, and keep the school fully aligned with Cambridge International standards.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

* Oversee day-to-day delivery of the Cambridge curriculum and ensure classroom practice meets Cambridge International standards

* Conduct regular lesson observations and provide structured feedback and coaching to teaching staff

* Monitor academic performance data and work with department/subject leads to address gaps

Staff Management

* Manage timetabling, teacher coverage, and substitute arrangements

* Coordinate Cambridge Professional Development (PD) workshops and ongoing staff training

* Act as first point of contact for staff performance and conduct matters, escalating to the Principal as needed

Student & Pastoral Leadership

* Oversee student discipline and behaviour management across the school

* Lead on student wellbeing matters and act as a key point of contact for safeguarding concerns

* Support form tutors and pastoral staff in managing day-to-day student issues

Compliance & Exam Administration

* Oversee Cambridge exam registration, internal moderation, and documentation

* Ensure the school is audit-ready for Cambridge accreditation and inspection requirements

* Maintain accurate academic records in line with Cambridge and regulatory requirements

Parent & Community Relations

* Handle escalated parent concerns and complaints with professionalism and discretion

* Support the admissions process, including parent meetings and school tours during peak periods

* Represent the school at parent-facing events alongside the Principal

Deputizing for the Principal

* Act as head of school in the Principal's absence, ensuring continuity of operations and decision-making

* Support the Principal in implementing school policy and broader strategic initiatives
