• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, or Biology (matching your subject); Master's degree preferred

• Minimum 7 years of teaching experience in Cambridge O Level/A Level, including prior experience as a Subject Lead or Head of Department

• Hands-on experience supervising Cambridge practical/lab examinations

• Strong command of the Cambridge syllabus and a track record of strong student results

• Prior experience teaching in an English medium or Cambridge curriculum school strongly preferred

• Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring a team of teachers

• Excellent classroom management, leadership, and communication skills

• Strong written and spoken English Preferred

• Familiarity with the Cambridge Professional Development (PD) framework

• Experience with Cambridge exam board liaison and internal audit/accreditation processes

Compass International School is a Cambridge curriculum school in Banani, Dhaka, part of Compass Education Group. We are hiring Heads of Department across three subjects — Physics, Chemistry, and Biology — to lead their respective departments, set the academic standard, manage the teaching team, and drive strong O Level and A Level results. This posting covers 3 separate openings, one per subject.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage your department, including curriculum planning, teaching standards, and resource allocation

* Set the department's academic vision in line with Cambridge O Level and A Level standards

* Conduct lesson observations and mentor department teachers, ensuring consistency in teaching quality

* Coordinate internal moderation, mock exams, and results analysis across the department

* Manage laboratory resources, equipment, and safety compliance for the department

* Continue to teach O Level and A Level classes directly in your subject

* Report on department performance and student outcomes to the Vice Principal/Principal

* Represent your department in academic leadership and planning meetings

* Communicate with parents on student progress, including during Parent-Teacher Meetings

Cambridge Exam & Lab Supervision

* Supervise and administer Cambridge O Level and A Level practical/laboratory examinations in your subject, in strict accordance with Cambridge International exam regulations

* Coordinate lab exam logistics — equipment setup, invigilation, and candidate management — for all practical assessment components

* Serve as the department's primary liaison with the Exams Officer/Academic Coordinator for Cambridge exam entries and practical exam registration
