Education:
  • MBBS

  • DMU or an equivalent qualification in Ultrasonography.

  • FCPS, MD, MCPS (Radiology & Imaging) or an equivalent postgraduate qualification.

Responsibilities & Context:

  • Perform and interpret a wide range of ultrasound examinations including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, gynaecological, anomaly, breast, small-parts and FNAC-guided ultrasound procedures.

  • Assess sonographic findings accurately and provide timely and clinically relevant reports to referring physicians.

  • Perform obstetric ultrasound examinations and anomaly scans with appropriate attention to foetal growth, development and wellbeing.

  • Conduct ultrasound-guided procedures such as FNAC guidance while maintaining appropriate safety and procedural standards.

  • Ensure accurate patient identification, clinical history review, examination documentation, image capture and proper storage of ultrasound records in accordance with hospital protocols.

  • Maintain high standards of patient care, privacy, dignity, communication and ethical clinical practice throughout all examinations.

  • Follow established infection prevention and control practices during ultrasound examinations and procedures.

  • Operate ultrasound equipment effectively and ensure appropriate utilisation of probes, imaging settings and related accessories.

  • Monitor the performance and safety of ultrasound equipment and promptly report technical faults or maintenance requirements to the concerned department.

  • Collaborate with referring physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding significant or clinically relevant sonographic findings.

  • Maintain accurate and complete clinical records and ensure compliance with departmental policies, regulatory requirements and quality standards.

  • Participate in quality improvement, clinical audit, continuing professional development and other departmental activities as required.
