Additional Requirements:

1. Feasibility Analysis Expertise: Ability to assess site conditions, waste generation patterns, and technology feasibility to prepare comprehensive feasibility reports.

2. Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) Knowledge: Proficiency in designing and planning ISWM systems, including waste collection, segregation, processing, recycling, and disposal.

3. Technical Writing and Reporting: Skilled in preparing technical documents such as inception reports, interim plans, and comprehensive feasibility reports.

4. Regulatory and Environmental Compliance: Deep understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks governing waste management, including local and international standards.

5. Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, present findings, and facilitate workshops.

6. Waste Management Technology Expertise: Knowledge of advanced waste processing technologies (e.g., anaerobic digestion, waste-to-energy, composting) and their applicability to large-scale projects.

7. Project Costing and Financial Analysis: Ability to estimate project costs and revenues, and assess the economic viability of proposed waste management solutions.

8. Risk Assessment and Mitigation Planning: Competence in identifying potential risks associated with waste management projects and developing effective mitigation strategies.

9. Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency in analyzing data to make informed recommendations, with experience in tools and methods for waste characterization and forecasting.

10. Training and Capacity Building: Experience in mentoring team members, conducting workshops, and enhancing the technical knowledge of project staff.

Context

BEETLSL, a distinguished environmental consultancy firm in Bangladesh, boasts an in-house laboratory facility dedicated to environmental engineering and accredited by the Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB).

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solid Waste Management (SWM) Expert to join our team for a critical environmental project. The expert will provide strategic input and technical guidance to develop effective and sustainable waste management solutions. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to feasibility studies, and ensuring that proposed systems comply with environmental and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping innovative solutions for waste management infrastructure and strategies, contributing to both environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

1. Technical Advisory and Planning

• Provide expert guidance on waste management strategies, including the selection of suitable technologies and systems.

• Contribute to feasibility assessments and project planning, ensuring alignment with technical and sustainability goals.

2. System Design and Implementation Support

• Assist in conceptualizing waste management infrastructure layouts and operational frameworks.

• Review technical specifications and implementation plans to ensure quality and compliance with best practices.

3. Regulatory and Environmental Compliance

• Offer insights into regulatory frameworks and assist in aligning project deliverables with applicable laws and standards.

• Ensure all recommended strategies adhere to environmental policies and sustainability benchmarks.

4. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and external consultants to achieve project milestones.

• Participate in workshops and presentations to provide technical expertise and foster collaboration.

5. Capacity Building and Knowledge Sharing

• Mentor and train project staff on SWM principles and best practices.

• Share knowledge and lessons learned to enhance team capabilities and project outcomes.

6. Documentation and Reporting

• Contribute to the preparation of reports, proposals, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensure clarity, precision, and compliance in all project documentation.
