Job Context:
∎ Samaj Kallayan O Unnayan Shangstha (SKUS) envisions a peaceful, prosperous and poverty-free society that ensures everyone`s basic needs and rights. SKUS has since the 2017 Rohingya refugee influx worked in Cox`s Bazar district with children and adolescents. SKUS works to provide access to learning opportunities in a safe and protective environment, offer quality teaching/learning and increase refugee/host community participation and engagement in children`s education. Based on children`s and adolescents` rights, SKUS has established quality learning and protection centers with support from different international donors, including UN agencies. SKUS has an agreement with UNICEF for the project of Phase III- Provision of Basic Education Programme for Rohingya Children aged 3-14 years in Cox`s Bazar district based on Learning Competency Framework Approach (LCFA) in Rohingya Camp in Ukhia Upazila under Cox`s Bazar District. SKUS is looking for a suitable candidate for the immediate appointment of Senior Technical Officer for the project as mentioned above, supported by UNICEF.
∎ Purpose of the Job : Under the guidance of the Technical Coordinator, Technical Officers manages the field level implementation and the project staff. She/he supervises and support the teachers and facilitators in the various modalities of centre and community-based educational activities.
∎ Contact period : Up to 1 May 2023 (High possibility to extend)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Guide/support team members to prepare curriculum and other class matters/activities
∎ Guide and support TO, PO, the teachers and facilitators.
∎ Develop detailed monthly activity plans jointly with the other team members in line with agreed with donor targets.
∎ Ensure compliance with the Education Sector, UNICEF, UN agencies, government and SKUS's standards, rules and regulations, framework partnership agreements amongst others.
∎ To supervise and monitor the Learning Centres, identify the potential threats, weaknesses & gaps, take initiatives to improve and keep all concerned updated.
∎ To supervise POs and provide practical supports.
∎ Capture and address issues brought up in the Teacher Learning Circles.
∎ Use M & E tools to report to the Monitoring and Reporting officer.
∎ Resolve field problems after proper consultation with other colleagues and senior staff on time in an appropriate manner.
∎ Guide/support field-level staff in curriculum roll-out, session planning, session materials, Teacher Learning Circle, amongst others.
∎ To keep liaison with relevant NGOs, GOB officials and education/child protection-related organizations for effective program implementation and enhancement of the quality.
∎ Provide logistic support to the various interventions.
∎ Prepare and timely submit reports as and when required.
∎ To collect and disseminate necessary information gathered from government and other actors/agencies.
∎ Assist the Training Specialist in preparing

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ 5 years of experience in education programs.
∎ At least 2 years of work experience in a Rohingya camp in the field of education.
∎ Knowledge :
∎ In-depth knowledge of education especially literacy and ECD and child protection.
∎ Knowledge of Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergency (INEE) minimum standards.
∎ Understanding the dynamics of child education and non-formal education curriculum in the Rohingya context.
∎ Skills :
∎ Intermediate oral and written communication skills in both Bangla and English.
∎ Excellent knowledge of the local language (Chattagram).
∎ Intermediate knowledge of computer software, particularly on MS Excel, MS Word, Power Point (both Bangla & English).
∎ Capacity to innovate and think creatively.
∎ Excellent interpersonal communication and facilitation skills.
∎ Management and team leadership skills.
∎ Abilities :
∎ Ability to work independently with minimum support.
∎ Open to taking on additional tasks as required to meet project goals and objectives.
∎ Ability to adapt to changing situations.
∎ Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

∎ The Technical Officer is based at SKUS's project office located at Ukhiya of Cox's Bazar.
∎ She/he will spend approximately 80% of his/her time in the field.
∎ She/he may have contact with dissatisfied or abusive individuals.
