• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nursing
• Diploma in Medical in Nursing
• Diploma in Midwifery

• B.Sc. in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized institution.

• Educational qualification may be relaxed for candidates with extraordinary practical experience.

• Must be registered with the Bangladesh Nursing Council.

Experience:

• At least 3 years for B.Sc. Nurse and 5 years for Diploma Nurse.

• Minimum 3 years of proven practical experience in an Operation Theatre setting.

• Experience in handling complex surgeries will be preferred.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• In-depth knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic techniques, and OT protocols

• Proficiency in handling modern OT equipment and instrumentation.

• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and emergency response skilis.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively in a high-pressure team environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in the Operation Theatre, encompassing pre-operative, intra-operative, and immediate post-operative phases.

• Prepare the OT for a variety of surgical procedures with all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies required for scheduled surgeries ensuring strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.

• Assist the surgical team (surgeons, anesthetists, and technicians) during procedures efficiently and anticipate their needs.

• Monitor patient's vital signs and physiological status throughout the procedure and respond promptly to any changes.

• Manage and ensure accountability for all surgical instruments, swabs, needles, and specimens accurately.

• Maintain accurate and detailed OT records and documentation.

• Ensure all OT equipment is functional and report any malfunctions promptly.

• Uphold the highest standards of patient safety, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
