As a research NGO, we are working in the fields of health research, health system strengthening, urban health, mental health and tobacco control.
∎ The Post: We are seeking to appoint one motivated researcher to coordinate the Quit4TB Trial under the RESPIRE 2 research Consortium, hosted by University of Edinburgh, UK and supported by University of York, UK. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-institution programme, the appointed Senior Research Associate will oversee the day to day management of the trial including setting up the trial sites, recruitment and training of filed researchers, recruitment of trial participants, data collection, and follow up. S/he has to prepare weekly and monthly progress report, and present the progress in Trial Management Group (TMG) meetings. S/he will support the organisation of meetings with key stakeholders to engage them in the formulation of research and dissemination of findings. The successful candidate will benefit from a programme of mentoring and training.
∎ Summary of the Project: A multi-center, cluster randomised, controlled trial (cRCT) consisting of two phases, where in Phase 1, we will compare mTB-Tobacco (intervention A to be delivered among TB patinets) with usual care (control); and in Phase 2, we will compare mTB-Tobacco (intervention A) with face-to-face behavioural support (intervention B). This is a three-year cRCT, and will be conducted in 20 TB centres (clusters).

Job Responsibilities:
∎ have experience in planning and managing field work, regular communication with the team
∎ will be required to comply with the University's and Funder's approved policies, procedures and practices.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Demonstrable interest or experience of working in research relevant to public health, in particular tobacco control.
∎ Experience of working with government departments and/or NGOs.
∎ Experience or interest in the dissemination of research and the presentation of results in an academic, public or policy setting.
∎ Ability to manage a research project from inception to completion.
∎ Demonstrable experience of producing high quality reports for publication in either an academic or policy environment.
∎ Experience of working in multi-disciplinary academic teams, and on multi-institution projects
∎ Must be proactive, able to work with minimal supervision and enthusiastic to perform field-based activities
∎ Minimum 4 years of experience in relevant research
∎ Professional experience of working in quantitative research
∎ be fluent in English (spoken and written)

Salary:
∎ Gross Salary: BDT 80,000 - 115,000 based on the qualification of the candidate
