Experience:

• At least 5 years

• must have Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline (public health/ epidemiology/economics/health-economics and other disciplines relevant to applied health research). 

• At least 5 years

• A minimum of 5 years of research experience in the health sector.

• Professional experience of working in quantitative research

• be fluent in English (spoken and written)

• have experience in planning and managing field work, regular communication with the team

• will be required to comply with the University’s and Funder’s approved policies, procedures and practices.

Through evidence-based research, training and communications, it provides sustainable solutions for health, education and social development. Since its inception in 2013, ARK Foundation has been working closely with Government organizations, national and international NGOs, universities, and development partners to achieve its vision and mission. As a research NGO, we are working in the fields of health research, health system strengthening, urban health, mental health and tobacco control.

• We are seeking to appoint a motivated Research Associate to coordinate the Smoke-free city study (70% time), hosted by the University of York, UK. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-institution programme, the appointed researcher will oversee the day-to-day management of the study including recruitment and training of filed researchers, database development and data management, data collection, and follow up. S/he has to prepare weekly and monthly progress report, and present the progress in Project Management Group (PMG) meetings. S/he will support the organisation of meetings with key stakeholders to engage them in the implementation of research and dissemination of findings. S/he will also support other ongoing projects (30% time) of ARK Foundation, as required. The successful candidate will benefit from a programme of mentoring and training.

Desirable

• Demonstrable interest or experience of working in research relevant to health systems strengthening and public health, in particular urban health and tobacco control.

• Experience of working with government departments and/or NGOs.

• Experience or interest in the dissemination of research and the presentation of results in an academic, public or policy setting.

• Ability to manage a research project from inception to completion.

• Demonstrable experience of producing high quality reports for publication in either an academic or policy environment.

• Experience of working in multi-disciplinary academic teams, and on multi-institution projects

• Must be proactive, able to work with minimal supervision and enthusiastic to perform field-based activities

• Gross Salary: BDT 60,000 - 75,000 (all inclusive) based on the qualification of the candidate
