The Senior Project Officer - Market Development will support the operational and business development of Aggregation Centers (ACs), strengthen local supply chains, and ensure smooth and timely transactions of food and on-farm products to designated outlets. The role focuses on capacity building, stakeholder engagement, business support, and revenue generation to promote sustainable and efficient market operations under humanitarian and resilience programming.
Market Development and Business Expansion
Lead market development initiatives to strengthen linkages between Aggregation Centers, retailers, and local markets.
dentify, assess, and initiate business opportunities for ACs to generate revenue and enhance sustainability.
Support development and implementation of business plans for ACs, including diversification of products and services.
Facilitate market access for food commodities, off-farm products, and other livelihood outputs.
Supply Chain and Market Linkage Management
Oversee local supply chain operations to ensure timely and efficient transactions of food commodities to FFC/E-voucher shops and off-farm products to EFSN shops.
Maintain regular coordination and communication with retailers in camps and host community markets.
Support ACs in demand forecasting, pricing, aggregation, storage, and distribution processes.
Monitor market trends, risks, and bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.
Oversee local supply chain operations to ensure timely and efficient transactions of food commodities to FFC/E-voucher shops and off-farm products to EFSN shops.
Maintain regular coordination and communication with retailers in camps and host community markets.
Support ACs in demand forecasting, pricing, aggregation, storage, and distribution processes.
Monitor market trends, risks, and bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.
Capacity Building and Cooperative Strengthening
Lead capacity-building initiatives for Aggregation Centers through training, coaching, and hands-on technical support.
Support governance strengthening of cooperatives, including leadership development, role clarity, and accountability mechanisms.
Facilitate registration and compliance processes for cooperatives, including TIN, VAT, trade licenses, and cooperative subscriptions.
Support translation, dissemination, and application of cooperative by-laws and operational guidelines.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships
Establish and maintain partnerships with public and private sector stakeholders for input supply, market access, and service delivery.
Coordinate with government line departments, financial institutions, private traders, and service providers to strengthen market systems.
Represent the project in relevant coordination meetings, workshops, and market forums as required.
Documentation, Reporting & Monitoring
Ensure proper documentation at Aggregation Centers, including financial records, transaction logs, and business documentation.
Prepare timely progress reports, market analysis, and learning briefs for management and donors.
Monitor performance of market development activities against targets and indicators.
Ensure compliance with donor (including WFP) and BRAC policies in all market-related interventions.

Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
