Additional Job Requirements

• At least 6 years’ work experience in Product Development in Knits/Woven under Womenswear category, especially with a factory or buying office.

• Having prior experience working for US customers/brands will be an added advantage.

• In-depth knowledge of fabric construction, content, and quality for respective product areas in the Knit & Woven category, print types, embroidery types, stitch methods.

• Knowledge and work experience in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator

• Must have extensive experience of product development, research, accessories, partial costing, and development of techpacks independently.

• Must have an elevated eye for product aesthetics attuned with customer research.

• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships work as a team.

• Should be well-groomed, smart, and energetic.

• Strong presentation and delivery skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection.

• Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English

• IT proficiency - advance level skill is a MUST in MS Office package (Especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)

• Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently.

• Ability to multitask and remain organized, meet deadlines.

Job Context

The Senior Product Developer (Womenswear) will be accountable for conducting research, sourcing materials, developing ranges/collections, studying customer techpacks and developing samples aligning the vision on the product direction from beginning to end. The incumbent will specialize in Knits & Wovens under Womenswear category catered to US customers, whilst working closely with internal cross-functional teams and external manufacturing partners and suppliers on a day-to-day basis.

Job Responsibilities

• Stay abreast of current fashion trends and consumer preferences in womenswear and develop range.

• Conduct a thorough study of the tech packs received from the customers and understand customer handwriting.

• Identify and source appropriate fabrics and materials for production.

• Analyze the fabrics, trims and knitting parameters, wash in detail.

• Prepare prior to customer visits by researching customer background, trends, quality requirements, price points etc. and accordingly articulate the presentation during customer visit.

• Prepare the showroom prior to customer visits and attend customer meetings and take visit notes.

• Oversee the creation of prototypes and samples, ensure they meet design and quality standards.

• Work closely with manufacturers to ensure smooth production processes and timely delivery of finished products.

• Conduct risk analysis during product development, also ensure fit approval and wearer tests.

• Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure that products meet JD`s standards.

• Monitor costs throughout the development and production process to ensure projects remain within budget.

• Work cross-functionally with design, merchandising, and fabric sourcing teams to bring products to market successfully.

• Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and consumer preferences.

• Research new fabrics / technology, washing techniques and trims for new developments and samples.

• Prepare the cost sheet of the product/sample.

• Handover the styles to Merchandisers along with all the product details and technical information after any order is confirmed.

• Preserve sample data and utilize it during bulk production. Prepare sample plan based on priority and availability.
