Job Context:

∎ The Senior Product Developer (Sports) holds the accountability for producing detailed tech packs for womenswear, menswear, childrenswear categories across the Sports brand ranges and following complete development of product from initial drawings to final sample, liaising with sampling team to follow progress and travel to factories for sourcing trims and fabrics, ordering raw materials and communicating with vendors, negotiating prices in line with company margin to achieve price points.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Drive intake margin improvement through garment engineering and appropriate fabric selection and utilization, to ensure best possible prices without compromising relevant quality level for the Brand
∎ Open Cost as appropriate and negotiate prices with suppliers in an ethical manner based on raw materials and construction costs along economies of scale
∎ Ensure product sustainability is at the heart of the own brands and the ethos behind all our actions
∎ Provide input and assist in developing and implementing new strategy and technologies, supporting rollout to teams and suppliers as appropriate.
∎ Maintain T&A calendar for all new development sample requests received from customer and analyze the fabrics, trims requirement, washing detail and ensure samples are made right the first time
∎ Manage the setup of size specs/blocks & graded size charts for all product areas, ensuring all size specs/techpacks for development are issued ensuring continuity & consistency
∎ Ensure sampling requests are made through MIS with proper techpacks
∎ Ensure all customer requirements are met on new developments as per techpacks, measurements, packaging, and labelling details and flag any risks to the buyers in advance
∎ Work closely with the sample room and oversee the sampling process and identify possible problems or issues and help to resolve them
∎ Assess and evaluate fit on mannequins, live models, and 3D avatars along with the technical manager as and when required
∎ Manage and approve fabric testing & care label development with the Suppliers.
∎ Ensure approval of lab dips and strike-offs in a timely manner
∎ Facilitate the handover and costing process from sample to bulk
∎ Establish a strong and competitive fabrics supplier base, both local and imported
∎ Source new trims, prints, embroideries
∎ Update the fabrics, trims, prints, wash and stitch library regularly and maintain all required technical details during the sample development process
∎ Conduct visits to factories to understand product/process mechanism, possibilities, and trends

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 6 years' work experience as a Designer cum Product Developer for Sports brands, preferably in a buying office
∎ In-depth knowledge of fabric construction, content, and quality for respective product areas in the Knit & Woven category, print types, embroidery types, stitch methods
∎ In-depth knowledge and work experience on Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
∎ Must have extensive experience of product development, accessories, costing and execution of techpacks independently
∎ Must have an elevated eye for product aesthetics
∎ Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships work as a team
∎ Should be well-groomed, smart, and energetic
∎ Strong presentation and delivery skills
∎ Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English
∎ IT proficiency - advance level skill is a MUST in MS Office package (Especially, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
∎ Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently
∎ Ability to multitask and remain organized, meet deadlines
