Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA, preferably within a hospital or healthcare enterprise.

Certifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) is highly desirable.


Technical Skills:

• Linux OS Platform Skills: Proven experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Linux, or similar distributions. Proficiency in Linux command-line administration, shell scripting (Bash) for automation, cron jobs, and storage/file system configuration.

• C# .NET Programming (Plus Advantage): Hands-on experience with C# programming and the .NET framework is highly advantageous. Ability to utilize Oracle Data Provider for .NET (ODP.NET) to bridge backend application layers with Oracle PL/SQL procedures, optimize connection pooling, and troubleshoot application-to-database connectivity.

• Core Database: Deep expertise in Oracle Database Architecture, Backup/Recovery (RMAN), and Oracle RAC.

• Advanced PL/SQL: Mastery in writing advanced Packages, Procedures, and Functions with bulk processing (BULK COLLECT, FORALL).

• Disaster Recovery: Proven experience setting up and managing Oracle Data Guard and executing live DR drills.



Responsibilities & Context:

Context

We are seeking a highly skilled and resilient Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our healthcare IT team. In our hospital environment, you will be responsible for ensuring the 24/7 availability, security, and peak performance of our databases (including billing and patient management systems).

The ideal candidate will be an expert in Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and high-availability architectures, alongside possessing deep development expertise in writing and optimizing complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, and functions.



Key Responsibilities

  • Database & Linux OS Administration: Manage, monitor, and maintain high-performance Oracle Database environments (Oracle 19c/21c and above) hosted on Enterprise Linux servers. Responsible for database-related Linux OS configuration, kernel parameter tuning, shell scripting, and storage management.

  • PL/SQL Development & Database Programmability: Design, develop, test, and maintain highly efficient Oracle packages, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support complex medical workflows and enforce data integrity.

  • Application & C# Integration: Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to bridge the gap between .NET/C# application layers and the Oracle database, ensuring optimal data mapping, connection pooling, and efficient API-to-database communication.

  • Disaster Recovery (DR) & Business Continuity: Design, implement, and rigorously test robust Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies, ensuring minimal Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) using Oracle Data Guard, Active Data Guard, and Oracle RAC.

  • Security & Healthcare Compliance: Ensure all database and underlying Linux OS environments comply with healthcare data privacy regulations and hospital security policies using encryption, hardening techniques, data masking, and strict access controls.
