Strong understanding of New Product Development and commercialization processes.

Strong technical understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, product design and testing.

Strong project management and problem-solving capability.

Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

Ability to manage multiple product development projects simultaneously.

Willingness to travel to factories, suppliers and other locations as required.

Strong communication and presentation skills in Bangla and English.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly competent and result-oriented Manager / Senior Manager – Product Development to lead the end-to-end product development and innovation activities across our diversified manufacturing businesses.

The incumbent will be responsible for transforming market insights, customer requirements and business opportunities into commercially viable products through product conceptualization, design, material development, prototyping, testing, validation, costing, process development, trial production and commercialization.

The role will cover product development across Melamine, Medical Devices, Glassware, Poly Bags, Woven & Non-Woven Bags, with strong focus on innovation, quality, cost optimization, manufacturability, regulatory compliance and speed-to-market.

The successful candidate will work closely with Marketing, Sales, Production, QA/QC, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance and Regulatory teams to ensure successful development and commercialization of new and improved products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the end-to-end New Product Development (NPD) process from concept generation to successful commercialization across multiple product categories.

• Identify and evaluate new product opportunities based on market trends, customer requirements, competitor benchmarking, consumer needs and business objectives.

• Translate market and customer requirements into clear product concepts, technical specifications, development plans and commercialization strategies.

• Lead product design, development and improvement activities for melamine products, medical devices, glassware, poly bags, woven and non-woven bags and other relevant product categories.

• Coordinate prototype and sample development, including product design, material selection, technical specifications, dimensions, functionality, aesthetics and manufacturability.

• Lead the development and evaluation of new raw materials, formulations, components, packaging materials, technologies and manufacturing processes in collaboration with relevant functions and suppliers.

• Coordinate with Engineering and technical teams for mold, die, tooling, jig, fixture and equipment development/modification required for new product development.

• Plan and execute product trials, pilot production, laboratory testing, performance testing, verification and validation to ensure products meet defined specifications.

• Work closely with QA/QC and relevant regulatory teams to establish product specifications, quality parameters, testing requirements and applicable regulatory/standards compliance.

• For medical-device products, ensure appropriate coordination with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs for applicable product safety, validation, documentation and regulatory requirements.

• Evaluate product cost, material consumption, manufacturing process, tooling requirements and commercial feasibility and ensure new products meet targeted cost and profitability requirements.

• Drive Value Engineering, Value Analysis, material optimization, light weighting, process optimization and cost-reduction initiatives without compromising product quality or performance.

• Lead pilot and commercial production trials and ensure smooth technical transfer of newly developed products from Product Development to Production.

• Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to establish and optimize manufacturing processes, process parameters and production methods for newly developed products.

• Monitor initial commercial production, identify technical and quality issues and ensure timely resolution during the scale-up and commercialization stage.

• Analyze customer feedback, market response, production issues and product complaints to identify opportunities for product improvement, redesign and continuous innovation.

• Conduct root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring product-related technical and quality issues.

• Identify and develop potential local and international suppliers, technology partners and technical resources for new materials, components, tooling and product development.

• Conduct technical evaluation and benchmarking of suppliers and materials based on quality, performance, cost, reliability and availability.

• Maintain a structured Product Development / NPD pipeline with clear project priorities, milestones, timelines, responsibilities and deliverables.

• Monitor product development projects against approved timeline, cost, quality and commercialization targets and ensure timely completion.

• Prepare and maintain appropriate product specifications, drawings, BOMs, material specifications, prototype records, trial reports, test reports, validation documents, costing and approval records.

• Ensure appropriate change-control and documentation practices are followed for product modifications and improvements.

• Conduct regular market and technology benchmarking to identify new product concepts, emerging technologies, materials and manufacturing practices.

• Work with Business and Marketing teams to support development of products that provide competitive differentiation, customer value and sustainable business growth.

• Lead and develop the Product Development/R&D team by setting objectives, assigning projects, monitoring performance and developing technical capabilities.

• Build a culture of innovation, ownership, technical excellence, collaboration and timely execution within the Product Development function.

• Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management covering NPD progress, development pipeline, project risks, commercialization status, cost savings, innovation initiatives and key technical issues.
