∎ As a member of the Child Protection team, the Senior Manager - Case Management will be responsible for overseeing the prevention and response arm of IRC`s child protection interventions through case management services, supervision and coaching responsibilities. She/he will be responsible for recruitment, onboarding and training of case management team, and ensuring quality technical support and supervision structures are in place in line with case management standards. The role is also responsible for ensuring linkages with the SHLS, SAFE and community based interventions and other child-focused programming through appropriate mechanisms to ensure children at risk or experiencing abuse or exploitation are supported through case management where appropriate. The position will work in close collaboration with IRC`s SHLS SR Manager, WPE Senior Managers and partner organizations to strengthen delivery of coordinated, integrated services though both static facilities and mobile teams that can be rapidly deployed and respond to complex needs. The Sr. Manager Case Management will represent IRC at inter-agency case management forums and GBV forum on caring for child survivors and contribute towards standards setting.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Technical Quality:
∎ Support the quality operationalization of the IRC's case management interventions in Bangladesh, ensuring that needs and priorities for programming and standards are in line with the context, needs, and gaps on the ground
∎ Contribute to overall child protection strategy to ensure children receive support when they experience harm at home or in the community
∎ Provide technical support (such as supervision and coaching, development of SOPs and guidelines) to the case management staff, mentoring, and capacity building to case management supervisors to ensure that quality supervision structures are in place to guide the practice of frontline CP Caseworkers and Child Protection Officers (integrated teams) in the field
∎ Develop and implement a capacity building plan for child protection case management team through formal and on-job training
∎ Work closely with Protection teams including WPE to ensure successful implementation of case management for child survivors and coordination for case management with other teams working with children
∎ Ensure the SHLS, SAFE and other child focused interventions have appropriate reporting and referral mechanisms to the case management team
∎ Ensure case management supervisors have necessary competencies and skills to provide case management supervision to case workers, in line with practice standards
∎ Establish and ensure case workers and supervisors are trained and supported through staff well-being and self-care
Additional Requirements:
∎ Excellent professional track record with at least 3 years of international management level experience within NGO leadership working in child protection in emergency/ humanitarian program implementation in conflict or immediate post conflict environments
∎ Experience in effectively dealing with international staff, donor agencies, government officials, and other NGO's;
∎ Prior experience working with Rohingya communities will be an advantage
∎ Proven experience of supervising and providing case management services and support
∎ Staff management experience, including staff capacity development and team building experience
∎ Ability to work with a broad spectrum of people
∎ Good knowledge and understanding of international child protection and youth policy and practice issues
∎ Strong proficiency in budget management, grants management and reporting
∎ Strong coordination and project management skills
∎ Strong writing and analytical skills, including ability to communicate technical matters to a range of audiences
∎ Competent in Windows, MS office programs, emails and relevant database
∎ Interpersonal Qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well
∎ Good coping strategies in stressful and emergency situation, calmness is a requirement
∎ Strong communication skills in written and verbal English
