∎ The Senior Executive - Fabric Sourcing (Global Fabric Librarian) will be accountable for taking up the front-end fabric librarian functionality and responsibly develop the global fabric libraries (Bangladesh, Turkey & China) to support seasonal inspiration as well as an archive of ZXY`s seasonal production fabrics. The incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining the central fabric database in the ERP system that can easily be navigated by all functional areas, globally.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Set up the global central fabric library with the best-selling quality fabrics in both Knit & Woven categories and replicate the same in the Turkey and China office
∎ Research fabric trends by attending mill fabric appointments and local fabric shows and create fabric resource lists
∎ Choose fabrics to be included in the library and highlight the latest materials
∎ Maintain a library of fabrics that are representative of raw materials that could be used in bulk production
∎ Select, identify, and locate fabrics for Business Units & Design team, as well as offer fabric alternatives in terms of cost, quality, lead time, newness, and sustainable fabrication
∎ Maintaining the library brand-wise, season-wise, and category-wise on a daily basis
∎ Maintain seasonal documentation in chart/ boards/ binders
∎ Create fabric boards to represent seasonal fabric trends
∎ Index, barcode and categorize fabrics in a systematic way for hangers
∎ Work on Visual Merchandising of the library based on the theme and the season as per the brand handwriting
∎ Source yardage for Sampling and develop fabrics with appropriate aesthetic and costs
∎ Manage receipt of new fabrics and categorize accordingly by type in the fabric library
∎ Keep a detailed record of the fabric information and qualities in ERP system and in fabric books
∎ Maintain daily communication with overseas offices and mills with fabric inquiries
∎ Review merchandising plans and maintain calendar timing
∎ Assist in scheduling fabric and supplier appointments as and when required
∎ Make random inspection to fabric mills during the fabric development/bulk stage when necessary
∎ Liaise with Design and Product Development teams on testing issues, and with Merchandisers on bulk production issues
∎ Source or develop substitute fabrics for production when necessary
∎ Maintain fabric archive and reference library
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years' experience in Fabric Sourcing and Development in a reputed buying office or textile mill
∎ A strong technical knowledge of yarns, fabrics, print processes, knit/woven construction, fabric finishes, washing techniques and an analytical understanding of color is essential
∎ Having existing contacts and relationships with a wide range of fabric suppliers will be an added advantage
∎ Should have basic knowledge of sustainable fashion solutions and material innovation

∎ Must be highly organized and pay great attention to details
∎ Good knowledge in costing and knowing the current yarn/fabric prices in the market
∎ Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as needed
∎ Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships work as a team
∎ Should be well-groomed, smart, and energetic
∎ Strong presentation and delivery skills
∎ Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection
∎ Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English
∎ IT proficiency - advance level skill is a MUST in MS Office package (Especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
∎ Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently
∎ Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast paced and creative environment
