∎ Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
∎ Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
∎ Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
∎ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
∎ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
∎ Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Job Summary:
∎ We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our company. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining cost accounting systems and procedures. This role requires a thorough understanding of cost accounting principles and the ability to analyze financial data to provide insights for cost control and decision-making.
∎ Key Responsibilities:
∎ Cost Analysis and Reporting:
∎ Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
∎ Perform variance analysis to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction.
∎ Prepare and present detailed reports on cost analysis and financial performance to management.
∎ Budgeting and Forecasting:
∎ Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
∎ Monitor and report on budget vs. actual performance, providing insights and recommendations for adjustments.
∎ Inventory Management:
∎ Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.
∎ Reconcile finished goods inventories and work-in-progress (WIP) inventories.
∎ Product Costing:
∎ Maintain and update standard costs of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
∎ Ensure accurate costing of new products and provide cost estimates for pricing decisions.
∎ Financial Controls and Compliance:
∎ Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as accounting standards and regulations.
∎ Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
