Responsibilities & Context:
Internal Audit will be responsible for conducting financial, operational, compliance, branch, inventory, cash, and risk-based audits across the organization's business operations. The position will identify financial irregularities, control weaknesses, operational risks, and compliance gaps and provide practical recommendations to strengthen internal controls and safeguard company assets.
A. Financial & Internal Audit
Conduct periodic financial and internal audits in accordance with approved audit plans, policies, and professional auditing standards.
Review financial statements, accounting records, bills, vouchers, and supporting documents.
Perform both pre-audit and post-audit verification of financial transactions.
Review bank transactions, bank reconciliations, and inter-company transactions.
Examine the accuracy, completeness, and authenticity of financial records.
B. Risk & Internal Control
Identify financial, operational, and compliance risks within business processes.
Evaluate the effectiveness of existing internal controls and recommend improvements.
Identify control weaknesses, irregularities, process gaps, and potential areas of financial loss.
Follow up on audit findings and monitor implementation of corrective actions.
C. Branch, Warehouse & Operational Audit
Conduct periodic audits of branches, warehouses, and business units.
Review sales, collections, deposits, expenses, receivables, and payables.
Conduct physical verification of inventory and fixed assets.
Reconcile physical balances with books/system records and report discrepancies.
D. Cash, Fraud & Investigation
Conduct surprise cash audits and physical cash verification.
Investigate suspected fraud, financial irregularities, errors, and policy violations.
Maintain proper documentation and evidence for audit findings.
Escalate significant financial and control issues to the Head of Audit.
E. External Confirmation & Field Audit
Visit customers' and suppliers' premises when required for balance confirmation and reconciliation.
Conduct field-level verification of transactions and supporting documents.
Coordinate with Accounts, Finance, Commercial, Operations, and other departments during audit activities.
F. Reporting & Documentation
Prepare clear and concise audit reports highlighting observations, risks, root causes, and recommendations.
Maintain proper audit working papers, checklists, evidence, and supporting documentation.
Present significant audit findings to the Head of Audit/Management.
Follow up on previous audit observations and prepare compliance status reports.
G. Other Responsibilities
Maintain confidentiality and professional integrity in all audit activities.
Perform other audit-related duties and assignments as directed by Management/Head of Audit.
