Experience:
Age Limit: 50 to 59 years (may be relaxed for outstanding candidates).
Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible experience in finance, accounting, financial management or audit, including significant senior-level experience.
At least 5 years of experience in a senior managerial or leadership position in a humanitarian, development, Red Cross/Red Crescent, UN, government, corporate and other reputable organization.
Proven experience in budgeting, financial planning, cash-flow management, financial reporting, internal control and audit coordination.
Experience with donor-funded programmes/projects and humanitarian, development or international organizations will be an advantage.
Practical experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) or equivalent ERP/accounting systems.

Red Cross-Red Crescent movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), a national society of the movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President`s Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971, is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the government, the Society provides humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable populace and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster relief, disaster management, responding to public health emergencies, capacity building of the vulnerable population and promoting Red Cross Red Crescent ideals and principles.
Currently Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is looking for a suitable Bangladeshi national for the mentioned position:
Duration of contract: 01 year (with possibility of extension upon satisfactory performance)
Reportable to : Secretary General through Deputy Secretary General.
Duty station: National Headquarters, Dhaka.
Purpose:
The Director, Finance will provide strategic leadership for BDRCS’s financial management, including planning, budgeting, accounting, reporting, cash and fund management, financial control, compliance and risk management.
The Director will advise senior management and relevant governance bodies on financial performance, sustainability and risks, ensuring compliance with BDRCS policies, Standing Orders, statutory requirements and donor regulations.
The position will lead the strengthening of financial systems and capacity across National Headquarters, Units, Limbs, programmes and projects, while maintaining effective coordination with the Treasurer, Internal Audit, auditors, donors and Movement partners.
Responsibilities for Finance:
Lead annual financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management.
Monitor organizational, programme and project budgets, expenditure and fund utilization.
Ensure accurate and timely accounting, financial statements and management/donor reports.
Strengthening financial controls, compliance, risk management and accountability.
Oversee computerized accounting/ERP systems and strengthen financial MIS.
Ensure effective management and reporting of advances, bank reconciliation and financial transactions.
Facilitate internal and external audits and follow up on agreed audit recommendations while maintaining Internal Audit independence.
Provide financial oversight of fixed assets, investments and other organizational resources.
Strengthen financial management capacity of Units, programmes and Finance personnel.
Liaise with the Treasurer, senior management, IFRC, ICRC, donors, auditors, government authorities and other stakeholders on financial matters.
Provide financial management support during emergencies and major disaster operations.
