Responsibilities & Context:
We are a multi-brand cement distribution business operating across several districts. We are looking for a Market Auditor cum Ledger Reconciliation professional who will be responsible for independently verifying market transactions, customer outstanding balances and ledger information.
The position requires regular field visits as well as coordination with the Accounts and Sales teams to identify discrepancies between company records, customer statements and actual market transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Market Audit & Verification
Visit retailers, contractors and other customers regularly across assigned territories.
Verify the actual business status, stock position, market presence and operating condition of customers.
Cross-check customer information provided by the Sales Team with actual market conditions.
Verify sales, delivery, collection and outstanding information through direct customer interaction.
Identify financially stressed or potentially high-risk customers and report the findings to management.
Conduct surprise market visits and customer verification when required.
Collect market feedback regarding customer payment behaviour and business reputation.
Identify unusual transactions, suspicious activities or discrepancies and immediately report them.
Ledger Reconciliation
Reconcile customer ledgers with customer statements on a regular basis.
Verify invoices, credit notes, debit notes, payments, returns and adjustments against customer records.
Identify differences between the company's ledger and customer-maintained records.
Investigate and document reasons for ledger discrepancies.
Follow up with customers, Sales and Accounts teams to resolve outstanding reconciliation issues.
Verify customer-wise outstanding balances and ageing.
Track overdue amounts and highlight significant or unusual outstanding balances to management.
Ensure proper documentation and acknowledgement of reconciled balances.
Maintain a systematic record of unresolved ledger differences and follow-up status.
Assist management in identifying potential credit-risk exposure.
Reporting
Prepare regular Market Audit & Ledger Reconciliation Reports.
Submit customer-wise findings, discrepancies, outstanding positions and risk observations to management.
Maintain proper supporting documents for audit observations.
Provide clear recommendations based on factual market and ledger findings.
Maintain strict confidentiality of company and customer financial information.
