Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Business Development Engineer who will play a strategic role in identifying new opportunities, developing high-quality proposals, and leading client engagement efforts. The role will actively contribute to projects funded by international development agencies and government bodies.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Opportunity Identification

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in targeted sectors and markets

• Conduct market research, opportunity scouting, and competitor analysis

• Develop strategic alliances, partnerships, and joint ventures

Proposal & Tender Management

• Lead pre-bid meetings, technical discussions, and client presentations

• Prepare Expressions of Interest (EOIs), technical proposals, and financial proposals

• Coordinate with internal engineering teams to design competitive and compliant solutions

• Ensure alignment with procurement rules (PPR, World Bank, ADB, JICA, etc.)

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Maintain strong professional relationships with government agencies, donors, and private-sector clients

• Engage with clients to understand requirements, ensure satisfaction, and support future business opportunities

• Represent the company at industry events, consultations, and partner meetings

Project & Contract Support

• Monitor ongoing projects to ensure client satisfaction and identify follow-up opportunities

• Support contract management and compliance activities as required

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering / Environmental Science / Electrical & Electronic Engineering

• Master of Science (MSc) in Civil Engineering (preferred)

Experience

• 4 to 6 years of relevant experience

• Experience in Engineering Firms, consultancy services, EPC, infrastructure, or development projects

• Strong industry network is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical background (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental, etc.)

• Expertise in proposal writing and tender documentation

• Knowledge of public procurement and donor-funded project guidelines (PPR, World Bank, ADB, JICA, etc.)

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills

• Market analysis, strategic planning, and client relationship management

• Understanding of contract management principles
